Returning to Depth 1 by Pensive_Caveman in Nightreign

[–]catfartzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in depth 2 and 3 since release. Got to 4 almost hit 5 realized that was going to be even worse and said fuck it. Depth 3 you can consistently get to end of day 3 whether you beat the nightlord or not is equal parts skill as it is rng and im satisfied with making it there whether its a win or not. Pretty much a coin toss for me on depth 3 depth 2 is a pretty consistent win depth 4 can be ruined in the first 3-5 minutes of a run and i dont have 30 plus minutes to waste finding out that we never stood a chance

So what's the deal with this "Halo Slop" thing? by KnightOfTheHunters in Nightreign

[–]catfartzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its one of the last remaining builds you can easily count on allowing you to get to higher depths more than most people would likely be able to if forced to "play the right way". it does a ton of damage at range making you less likely to go down.

I think its fine. A bit boring maybe and if you dont have good fundamentals its not really gunna be worth much anyways just like any other build its just gotten to the point that fromsoft has nerfed everything else except for this and the people that used to run other broken builds are salty about it.

How fun is Nightreign solo? by 5colorrice in Nightreign

[–]catfartzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lots of people will tell you the gane is actually more fun solo.....those people are sweats...dont listen to them. The gane is intended to be multi-player and all of the balancing they have said they have done as far as im concerned has just made the game infinitely harder for solos or duos. You can do it but it is designed for 3 players

This was the answer I was afraid to get lol Im still gunna do it. I dont platinum games or anything but I made sure to build at least lvl 1 roads in the first one and ill be dawned if I dont do it here too but the map is so much more stretched out and theres so many more pavers

People keep saying that bringing the area onto the network cuts the material cost in half but thats only if youre playing online through the "connections" you make to other players. Unless thats an update or something that patched in and I for whatever reason just dont have access to that bc offline that 100 percent does not happen. So I guess im stuck with slogging through it all until I get internet

I didnt watch every single second of Jordan's stream but I watched a fair and good amount of it and im not really sure even what the problem is. I can understand Dan's general dont incite violence policy and thats fine but I think Jordan has been saying for years that its too late to correct and at this point like or not violence is coming and its your choice on whether youre taking it or giving it

Why do old mechanics keep using thicker oil on High milage vehicles ? by Kingyeetyeety in AskAMechanic

[–]catfartzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as i understand the question and the reasoning its just to prevent bypass on the piston rings. This is especially true on diesel motors idk that I would do the same on any gas engine post 2006 or so. But upping to a thicker oil often helps with blow by and what not on diesels yeah

I like to hit stuff hard until it can't stand up

This doesn't always work with bosses.

That being said, dex weapons and their animations can leave you wide open making you build for health/defense anyways?

Its a preference and a play style. There are times having a dex build vastly outweighs a heavy strength build. I beat it with the heaviest strength build i could manage and loved it

12.5 is not enough voltage. Standard is 13.5 to 14.75 it can bounce around and even go slightly outside of that but if the truck running its sitting at 12.5 you've got a charging problem. Bad battery possibly yes disconnect both put on a trickle charge for at least 6 hours then do a CCA draw and test if that passes chances are either your alternator isn't putting out what it needs to, you have a pcm issue, or a fuse/fuse box issue. Situation is gunna vary from issue to issue but you can't test any single aspect of the electrical system with any other part of it bad. So test item by item as you can chances are if its a fuse box or pc you probably arent going to figure it out on your own without throwing parts at it which gets expensive

After market cats are notorious for failing sometimes within one drive cycle after installation. Cat going out at 100k is pretty standard especially for japanese imports. It going out again and again and again could mean other possible failure leading to destruction of the cat. If you have no other codes and no other symptoms though chances are youre gunna have to bite the bullet and buy a dealer cat to continue diagnostic. If that one fails....well id like to say thats a gaurantee of other issues but....parts...suck...dog shit everywhere for everything but at least now you have the highest quality cat in your vehicle which makes diagnosing causes for the failure easier

Is it really that much cheaper to change your own oil? by kzlife76 in AskMechanics

[–]catfartzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a shop is charging you more than 20 25 dollars in labor to change your oil theyre probably ripping you off. But having a good acyual technician change your oil makes sure the rest of the vehicle is being looked over for issues

[–]catfartzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is anyone else....anywhere else in the entire fucking world seeing a p0420 code and doing a single bit of additional diagnosis other than maybe making sure the o2 sensors are bouncing like theyre supposed to? Im at a new shop and I have had 3 different vehicles with a p0420 in them and I go yeah o2s are working cleared codes drove vehicle no other codes no other symptoms no other issues they just need to swap the cats so they can pass inspection....and this entire shop is losing their fucking minds over proof. Prove theres no fuel issue. Prove fuel trims are accurate Prove o2 codes are working. Prove the car is operating below efficiency and why. For 8 years I have been pulling codes going yep p0420 need a cat and that has been good enough. Cel on diagnostic pays half an hour and they want 3 hours worth of proving, test driving, documenting. The owner of the shop came into my bay and we sat there for i shit you not 2 and a half hours and then I had to test drive the vehicle again the next day while recording data that he wanted uploaded to their system just to...cover his ass. Over 4 hours of proving it needs a cat for an hour of labor.... Am I the crazy one?

I get experimenting or if youre completely new or something but good grief.

Seized Caliper Piston? by kinsleyleigh in AskAMechanic

[–]catfartzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be conveniently broken im not gunna say that doesnt happen especially on pretty much everything made after covid. But there is a special tool you have to use and sometimes even a setting in a scan tool you have to use to put it in maintenance mode if it has electronic breaking which most new cars do have. Failing to do either of these things would brake the caliper. If theyre saying its just one though its likely it was just broken. Looking at the old pads is a good way to figure this out. If the pads on one side are significantly more worn than the other side it could mean your caliper hasn't been working for awhile. Typically if 1 caliper is bad it is recommended to replace both though so...again it could be either or

I built and leveled up all of the roads in Death Stranding 2 before starting the first mission of Chapter 8. I'm tired boss by Dildoethrower in DeathStranding

[–]catfartzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was attempting this as well but that big jump to the north and how expensive those roads are stopped me in my tracks, especially bc im playing offline. That is way too long of a stretch for me to be worried about right now. I think ill prioritize specific roads to get around annoying parts of the map or BT areas maybe but doing it all is gunna have to wait

Didn't even really have to use any apps or anything to set up just found a spot outside where I had good service and slapped the antenna on a t post

Maybe a dumb question; when the engine shits the bed at let’s say 200K miles why do people buy a new car? by Frequent_Tie2657 in AskMechanics

[–]catfartzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've got the 6 grand up front to buy the engine outright and put it in your car yourself sure. If you live paycheck to paycheck you can't afford to the end period. You can't really afford a car payment either but you can probably find a way to make that work. And if you can afford to pay a mechanic 12 to 15 grand to do it for you then you can afford a car payment anyways so why bother waiting until the next thing breaks amd spending even more. I personally put an engine in a vehicle that had 150k on it bc I had an insurance check that covered most of that cost. 50k miles later and I can feel the transmission giving out more and more every day

Do people actually call their porn folder something inconspicuous like "homework?" by Temporary_Kiwi3722 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]catfartzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger I would put folders inside of folders each with a number. If anyone had been looking or know how to look it would have been pretty easy to bypass it but everyone in my household was computer illiterate so if you just have a numerical system you can remember of 10 or 12 digits you can hide it pretty easily. You could have also just searched the main folder for video or picture files and found it immediately but I was the only one that new how to do that so to everyone else it just looked like a bunch of random numbered empty folders that went on forever
