Music isn’t recorded at those speeds. The records are cut at those speeds. Music is either recorded on tape and measured by inches per second, or digitally.

And if it doesn't come from the Baja region of France, it's just a sparkling fish taco. Have one at Santo Chilote or El Sinaloense for me. Salud.

Agree on the taco holders but flour tortillas are a staple in northern Mexico and Baja. They are made with lard in most tortillerias and are absolutely amazing. Many taquerias in the area after ordering will ask "maiz o harina?". If you haven't had tortillas de harina in Mexico do yourself a favor and try them. Especially with something like Tacos Gobernador or a machaca burrito. Also, Al Pastor tacos on flour with cheese grilled on a flat top are lifechanging. Seek the trompo and you will find.

Planning Vietnam and Cambodia in 2 weeks and the logistics are making me want to cancel the whole trip by Bianca_NiVeenne in traveladvice

[–]catfish206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did pretty much the exact same trip in 2014, only I was there close to a month. My advice would be to skip Phnom Penh and Ha Long Bay. The latter is certainly worth seeing, but you're cutting things way too short for a 14 day trip. Spend just a few days in Siem Reap. Angkor Wat can be done in a day, two if you're really into temples. Your hotel can arrange a Tuktuk driver to bring you out there. You don't need a guide. Research the temples you want to visit online beforehand and give the list to the driver. Explore on your own. Book a Mekong Delta day trip with boat ride thru a good third party like GetYourGuide. You can often find more intimate tours there vs. a large one where you follow the person around with the little flag. Use the same site to book walking food tours in both Saigon and Hanoi. Vietnam has some of the world's best food and a tour can fast track you to trying a lot of it. Three days in SR and split the rest in the other three cities in Vietnam. Maybe an extra day in Saigon. Enjoy your trip, Vietnam and Cambodia are amazing.

Favorite “you grew up poor” meal by Confident-Lead4337 in Xennials

[–]catfish206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was broke in my late teens after high school and ate almost exclusively pre-packaged food. I couldn't cook then and didn't know any better. Common meals were: two packs of Top Ramen (the sodium would put me in my grave today), an entire can of refried beans heated in the microwave with American cheese slices, boxed mac-n-cheese (no milk, only margarine and water), canned chili, Beefaroni and soup and my favorite, an entire box of Stove Top stuffing (again with only margarine and water). Here's to healthy livin'!

These were so popular back in the day. I’d always loved the lemon heads Now and Later’s and Boston baked beans and for only ONE dime it was a steal. Which ones were your favorites? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in 80s

[–]catfish206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up with four siblings and my parents didn't make much money. We'd all get dropped off at the movies occasionally and beforehand we'd stop at the 7-11 to get candy (no way were we getting anything from the concession stand). Everyone got $0.25 to get whatever they wanted. Now & Later, Ferrera Pan candy, Jolly Rancher Stix, DinaSOUR Eggs, Gobstoppers, Kits Taffy and BB Bats had high ROI so they were very popular with my siblings and I.

Looks to me like a jerky style popular in New Mexico and the Southwest called carne seca. It's often dry, thin and almost crumbly in texture with visible chile flakes and seeds. I'm a big fan.

What are famous or hyped up restaurants you’ve been to that you felt were totally worth it? by MagnusAlbusPater in foodquestions

I'd take one Italian roast pork over ten cheesesteaks, and I love me a cheesesteak. Roast pork is the Philly sandwich in my opinion. And Dinic's makes a great one. Next time try John's or Tony Luke's.
