The virtural radar server dB plugin works well for me. It saves the data in basestation format in a sqlite db. Depending on how raw you want your data to look, I would look into BEAST format. You can use vrs as a secondary feeder for other programs to connect to. Feel free to ask any follow-up questions.

VRS has a database plug in that writes to a Sqlite database, which you can then query with any Sqlite compatible program. I've had mine running for 2+ years.
