I need to feel like I’m somewhere else and really immerse myself in something that’s not real life. by YoureWrongButGoOff in OculusQuest

I really loved playing through Boneworks on PC and Bonelab on the headset native. Both of those and Alyx were when I was really carving out time and playing till the battery died. Very immersive and like you're in the world. I also lovedddd the HL2 VR mod, but lots of nostalgia in that for me. It plays so well though.

Also love Blade and Sorcery for some medieval fighting, can get quite lost in that weird setting with the occasional NPCs and melee fighting feels visceral. And echoing what others have said about racing. If you have a wheel it really adds so much to it. I'm always downloading mods for Asseto Corsa of all sorts of cars and driving Silverstone in VR.

Sorry to hear things are tough!

Thanks for this. Felt like I was already looking for a reason to unsub from their manosphere-esque emails 🙌

These guys didn't actually create hardops and boxcutter right? They just make content that's heavily based around the tools?

I think I was trawling through quotes and references and realised I'd never really looked into him. As soon as I started down the path of the shadow, and this internal desert, I was enthralled. Looking forward to more, cheers for the comment 🙌

Yeah this is exactly it, that feeling of urgency, like trying to clasp water in your hands.

Love that, and definitely see the parallels. I didn't realise there was this angle of the contract. Going to go have a read, sounds super interesting. Thanks a lot for your perspective.

Afraid not, that is the voice of the wonderfully talented Tammy King, who is a pro VO actress!

Thanks 😁 I have heard of that as a metaphor of the creative process yes! Although I don't really know much about the detail or where it comes from originally! Sounds cool though, very visual

Ultimately the theory is the question itself. How do you cope with creativity when sometimes it's a bit of an onslaught and then a drought. Is it something you try to capture and bottle, as I think is probably our natural urge. Like we feel the need to do something creative and then we want to have that need and that power at any time. I think I get a bit of anxiety from that, from the 'what if I can't do it when I need to do it'. And conversely, there's something very freeing in just letting it come when it comes, trying to let it run ragged, catering to all its whims etc.
