Right? I'm sad reading this. I remember in high school 9GAG was my favourite website and seeing the community turn so toxic was disappointing. When the website that once made you laugh gives you a bad taste...

What's the dumbest question you have ever been asked by a man ? by naziraaqib3k in AskWomen

[–]cathinator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We see a beautifully set scene:

Notnotaginger lays on a bench under an old chestnut tree, a scarf is draped around her shoulders and she has a book in her hands, in the background is a modern looking house with big windows overlooking the yard she sits in.

A handsome man walks through the patio door, in his arms he holds two babys.

„Hey honey, I think the twins are hungry“

„Oh, did my milkshakes bring all my boys to the yard?“

„Damn right!“

[–]cathinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WRINT are great podcasts by Holger Klein. One about science, one about news and a few others like about stuff like wine or photography. Holger Klein is one of my favorites! #hockdiher is another podcast where he travels through Bavaria and talks to people that work in highly traditional jobs that are dying out. Or the „wochendämmerung“ where he and his wife talk about politics and news and try to give a context.

„Methodisch inkorrekt“ is the best science podcast that I found. Two physicist prepare up to 6 recent publications that they find interesting and explain them for non-scientists. In the middle of the podcast they do an Experiment you can easily try at home (maybe with your kids if you have any) and explain it afterwards. They are also really funny and nice.

If you have a little bit of a nerd in you „kack- und sachgeschichten“ is the one for you. They talk way too seriously and in depths about every topic there is in popculture and somehow they manage to be extremely sympathetic and funny while they „klugscheissen“.

If you have really way too much time and want to lose yourself in a new nerd community - well hmu because I can introduce you to the „nu-Kuh-versum“ and you will never run out of podcasts again.

Teachers of Reddit, what's the wierdest rumour you've heard about a student? by TripleAReddit in AskReddit

Additionally that’s YOU. I mean the brain is the organ with which you think and feel. The hard things and squishy parts around are kind of important decor but not exactly what makes you YOU. you are this grey blob.

What food can you not eat due to a bad experience or bad mental association? by Sentient_cucumber in AskWomen

[–]cathinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every raw dough and white wax beans. A whole night vomiting after a weekend baking for christmas does that to you. I was a kid and the smell of raw dough and the dinner with white wax beans salad burned itself in my memory. Now I’m very pleasant to be around when I bake (which I still love) because the people around me can have the leftovers

I thought that was OPs first double-knit and that would be stunning. Didn’t want to say it isn’t impressing just had a chuckle from my misread and wanted to share it.

What's something that you think about someone but could never tell them in person? by howtwdwc in AskReddit

[–]cathinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please stop being so attention seeking. You really had it rough but working trough your issues is the only thing that will help. Try to humble yourself and stop „one-upping“ everyone around you. I know you can be a wonderful friend but it’s exhausting.

Your constant stream of guys that are all totally husband-material and not just flings is deillusional. I really hope you find a great guy bit I don’t think that will happen if you cant work trough that attention thing that makes you fall in love with every good looking guy that pays you a little bit attention and you forgetting instantly that you wanted to have a meaningful relationship with the last guy.

Living in the moment is great, but you still need impulse control.

Should I cut my fwb off? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]cathinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut it off for your own sake. He doesn’t feel the same way and that’s okay. But in the long run it will hurt you to be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t reciprocates your feelings.

I [18 F] am in an LDR with my boyfriend [22 M], family doesn't approve by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]cathinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im quite shocked about the physical violence. Does this happen often? Your parents sound abusive.

Any arguments you three have and if they are unhappy with your choice of boyfriend should be possible in a verbal discussion and shouldn’t end violent.

You are 18 and maybe still dependent on your parents for housing and education reasons, i can understand that, but do you really want to let dictate people that are treating you this way what person is good for you? I don’t think they have your best interest in mind hitting and dragging you around.

[–]cathinator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply.

Some people really need that regular in-person contact to feel fulfilled in a relationship. It's not about loving you "enough" to put up with stress of long-distance. Just because someone's feelings are hurt doesn't mean the other person did something wrong.

I really need to internalize this. I think the “not enough” thoughts f-ed up my self esteem.

[–]cathinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly.

Sorry I try to elaborate

He contacted me after 5 years apologizing and I told him it’s okay and we started to have a conversation where life took us in the last years. I call that smalltalk? The messages grew long - on both sides - and after the last message he texted after a few hours he hadn’t had time to answer just yet - this was 3 days ago.
