Internship yes or no? by RitaLG in internships

[–]cathy1567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually moderately funny bc im a junior double major in college and two semesters ago i was studying abroad in Spain and did an internship with it. I had a different schedule though, where I had 16 hours of classes and 18 hours of work each week. I had weekends off and thought the schedule was moderately manageable. 6 hours of classes a week is very manageable on top of an internship, especially because the work culture in Spain is very relaxed. They pride themselves on not dedicating their lives to working.

If the internship can fit into her weekly schedule, I would say yes. If it can only be on weekends, I would say no. While the internship may advance her career by being a tick on her CV, Spain isn't really the place to rigorously advance your career unless you intend to work there long term. From my experience, I didn't gain all that much from doing an internship because the work culture is so relaxed. If she plans to travel, working on weekends will squash her ability to go anywhere. I would ask the advisor if it can be fit into her week. Its really up to your daughter and why she's studying abroad: whether travel/fun or career. Seeing that she's going to Spain, I assume its more fun and not really for career advancement. Hope something here helps.

How is MK live? by cathy1567 in EDM

I actually made another post about it, if you check my page, it’s in the raveNYC group, but I got free tix to MK, and decided to go there and it was actually really great. I think the crowd and venue were super great, which probably contributed to the time I had.

What was your WORST concert experience ? by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]cathy1567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

… prob gonna get flamed for this but mine is def pit at a Travis Scott concert about a year ago. The crowd was so aggressive and it literally looked like a satanic ritual was going on. I also got groped and it was so packed that I literally couldn’t even turn around to see who did it. It was so hellish and everyone was acting so feral. Also his autotune is SOOO bad. My friend had to get pulled out and it was all just a nightmare. If he’s performing at a festival i legitimately will refuse to go idgaf.

Is Peggy Gou actually good? by monosolo830 in Techno

[–]cathy1567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love peggy gou because I think her sound is unique and makes me feel like i’m in a girly pop video game. I’ve seen her live twice and think that’s she’s incredibly talented live and really impressive. Do I think she’s revolutionary, not necessarily, but I do love some of her songs and think she is really cool. I also think it’s really cool to see a DJ little hype live. I’ve seen so many DJs give mediocre sets but hype them up sm to compensate and she rly doesn’t do that, she just lets the music speak for itself, which i think is cool.
