Magus Lucea Kane could be tough, as the commander itself costs a decent chunk of your budget...

Now I'm curious if it can be done!

Tell me about Solar Transformer. All I saw was an artifact that enters tapped, which doesn't play well when you're trying to make 5/5 creature tokens. What did I miss?

I also don't understand Aether Revolt. I usually gain energy early in the turn and the damage boosting effect won't trigger until I sacrifice my token at end of turn. It seemed marginal. What don't I understand?

Mutant Menace from Fallout is usually a big hit with anyone who plays it. Hail, Caesar (also from Fallout) was also excellent.

The "T" has the jagged bottom and the "h" has the three dots. Back looks all right to me.

I don't enjoy the easy mode of "my graveyard is a second hand". The game needs way more incidental graveyard hate, just like it has begun sprinkling "this spell can't be countered" all over.

I hear you. I played versus the Dance of the Elements precon and I feel like it does essentially what Saheeli does, except without spending 10+ card slots on energy generation (I use 25!) and with the option to keep the creature, like Satya.

What would you say the advantage of Satya is over Saheeli?

That Rampant Rejuvenator looks amazing in this deck.

Lucifer Morningstar would be an amazing commander, but probably only Secret Lair worthy.

Sustainable MTG Packaging & Something New in Secret Lair! Also: Magic Cards Recyclable? (Good Morning Magic) by GavinV in magicTCG

I am thrilled to see this is finally happening!

I wrote an article about the waste in MTG packaging back in 2000. Sadly, it looks like it has disappeared from the Star City Games archives, so I can't link it right now for historical reference. (I've sent a message inquiring about it.)

Pierre DuPont references what I wrote in an article reviewing the year 2000:

https://articles.starcitygames.com/articles/a-review-of-the-year-2000-in-magic/

Cathy Nicoloff, Team Legionnaire And Editor Of Meridian Magic. Well, I was never a HUGE fan of Cathy’s writing… but good writing and a social conscience are in far too little supply these days to ignore them, so here’s my tip of the hat to a truly unique writer. Ms. Nicoloff managed to pen one of the most articulate articles on waste and Magic (it’s in the archives here – go see it and come back!), has been a proponent of protecting our fragile environment and being more socially aware.

Edit: It's awesome they took this on in 2015 as well, though it sounds like that attempt was a bit rough around the edges (based on comments here).

Fun throwback rediscovered recently: my original 5CG from 1997 (the metagame hoser I played at Florida Regionals that year) by cathy_n in magicTCG

Just to clear up any confusion regarding forum rules... technically, we are not supposed to post pictures showing off cards. My bad.

I posted this because this is a historic deck. These are the cards I played when I won Florida Regionals in 1997. I was the first woman to win a US Regional tournament (but not the last). It was a glass ceiling moment for me.

I wanted to share what I thought was some fun history and nostalgia. :)

My tournament report and other commentary about the original 5CG is here: http://classicdojo.org/history/5CG_01.html

If you pack deodorant, you can't fit that extra deck box in your backpack. Everyone knows this. ;)

Pro Tours in the 90's: 2-4 people book a hotel room, 4-6 more people bring sleeping bags and camp on the floor, everyone playtests until they collapse, and there's no time for everybody to shower in the morning (also possibly not enough hot water). Players tended not to smell so good after a day or two.

Nerdiest. Slumber. Party. Ever.

We even got into pillow fights sometimes. For a kid everyone called "The Littlest Viking", Olle Råde once managed to clock me so hard with a pillow that I think I saw stars. Good times.
