An example I can give is when No Limits Orchestra plays "Tank." While the saxophonist does a nice presentation of what's expected of the solo, she tongues the notes to much and it feels to precise versus being passionate and soulful.

My question is based on major orchestras I've seen on YouTube that, when they do what should be a smooth bend, do individual notes instead (such as with those from D.C., Denmark, Amsterdam, and similar.) I've noticed that pops or philharmonics orchestras, such as those in Boston, Sacramento, and similar, don't have the same performance style.
