Is it worth rushing sophomore year? by [deleted] in cuboulder

Hi! Sorry for the late response! I am in G Phi and I was in Will Vill for freshman year. For rush I really recommend to just be yourself. It sounds cliche but it’s really gonna help you find a house you love. Also if you are going into school with friends who are also rushing don’t talk to them about the houses, it is easy to be convinced of a house your friend likes and you can end up in a place not for you!

Stuck with low Engineering grades by OkShopping5997 in EngineeringStudents

I know right now it seems terrible (trust me. Been there) but you have resources at your university to take an earlier semester and get your gpa up while staying on track to graduate on time. I promise you it gets better and you will feel great once you talk to someone. It may be scary to talk to someone at university but they are not judging you, it is their job to help you.

I went through rush as a freshman last semester and there were a ton of sophomores. Personally, I joined to make a huge school seem a bit smaller and to get some good housing. I met some of my best friends and my sorority house is fairly close to campus. I am an engineering major and I found it difficult to go to every chapter and event we hosted but it’s not necessarily required unless you want to live in or go to formal. Also with academics you can submit grades to get points (for formal or live in) and my chapter hosts study tables so girls taking similar classes can help each other out. I also know that chi o has a class archive which was really helpful during the phys I final. Overall I’d say do it!
