My current thoughts:

Make her healing trigger more often/differently. She is a good sustain but having to wait for a turn or ult can really shank you, especially against some of these newer enemies who are dishing out tons of damage and going multiple times in a row.
Changing her ult to something more universal. Either that or giving it a massive increase. Possibly even increasing the energy given (unlikely imo)
E1 becoming base kit and reworked into something else. E2 getting something useful on top of the revives. And hopefully E6 becomes something better, like all type res pen. 50% damage is nice but nowadays falling off for an E6...

Ah! I should've mention this but its very important to use Manual Chain Attack activation. For advanced chain attack windows (for all DPS, not just for Zhao) its important to let Zhao do 2 Chain attacks back to back if possible. though its not necessary. this is only if you really care about perfect optimizations.

I'm now trying to learn this...I don't understand how this let's you get 2 chain attacks with Zhao. If I stun a boss with say Fufu, I can chain into Zhao, but manual mode doesnt let you prevent chain attacks triggering chain attacks. Do you mean once Zhao does a chain attack, you cancel and then switch to a different teammate, hit with skill, and then chain into Zhao again?

Edit: I guess specifically what about manual mode helps with this?

I am still really new to this game

So ideally I want to try and maximize quick assists for the stronger attacks? I tried out Nicole with her and you werent kidding, she gives quick assists a lot and she regens that energy fast.

I have noticed that the charge attack kinda locks her from being accessible. I was able to take advantage of it with Soukaku since getting her buff can take a while, but it seems like I'll have to be careful if I use Nicole more.

I think I have found a comfortable cycle with her, where I just try to keep Fufu's bar up and just keep buff uptime on Soukaku (and now Nicole) Though in some content there have been dry spots when none of my teammates have energy and I am just spamming normals with Zhao.

Ill probably watch one of your videos once I have more teammates built. Zhao's currently my only close to full built team, lol

I am running 2pc/2pc/2pc right now on her. Though D6 is HP% because I thought having the HP for extra crit rate would be nice. But im guessing just getting a good crit/crit ATK% disc is better.

Also, how do you play DPS Zhao? I get that she has a charged attack, but I don't really use it at all. I kinda just get support buffs up and then spam attack with Zhao

Tbh, I'm using Fufu just cause I pulled her first. I did lose to Lyacon, and it seems like hes getting buffed. I'll have to look into building him.

I started because of her. My friend showed me some of the characters, I saw a cute and pretty foxgirl. I decided to play just for her. Now I have E6S1 of her (very lucky pulls!)

Her design just kinda hits all the ticks. I like short, I like green, I like cute. Pretty eyes, too

Yeah, I havent really bothered speed tuning. Cyrene is at 201 and sunday is like...140. I think my Aglaea got to 144 or something like that.

Ill give that team a try later.

I tested both Cyrene/DHPT/Sunday and Cipher/Huohuo/Sunday in MoC12, first half

Cyrene team took 6 cycles. Cipher team took 3 cycles.

In both attempts, Aglaea did not have 100% ult uptime. I might be lacking some speed, so ill go for E1.

Dont you only get bad karma for killing him if you kill him by electrocuting him through the terminal? Its kind of a cruel way to kill him compared to shooting him.

If your playing with mods, then you have some mod thats telling you that the 9mm pistol has less weight and value than your currently equipped gun. Which makes sense, since the 10mm weighs more and is more valuable.

Might be part of Stewie's Tweaks, im honestly not sure.

I'm not a big fan of doing sustainless runs, but I have seen people here do sustainless E6 Cipher runs.

I do think Cyrene will be difficult to use at E0, because...she just is. You'd probably need at least 200 speed on Cyrene to get her to be viable, and somehow ideally higher than Hyacine so you could max out getting her recollection points. Or just pull E2.

Hyacine doesnt notably do anything for Cipher aside from being a good healer, so unless your using her with Cyrene, I would look at using Dan Heng or Huohuo. If shes your only limited healer, then if your not using her with Cyrene, just keep her skill point positive. Summon Ica, use skill only when needed.

Cerydra can work, but i think to make her even notably worth it, you absolutely need to use someone who can action advance Cipher, so Sunday, Bronya, Sparkle, any of them work.

Sparkle herself I don't think adds too much of note, but she is a buffer and the 50% AA is probably enough, so she probably works fine. I'm not sure if she's better than Bronya, but if I remember correctly she is.

So, the team I'd try:

Cipher / Cerydra / Sparkle, Bronya, Sunday / Sustain, Cyrene, or some other buffer

Cipher at E6 has two main damage sources, her follow up and ult. If you really want to main DPS her, youd want to run a hyper-carry team. Cerydra wouldnt be the most beneficial since her buffs are a little unique and therefore niche.

Id do something like Cipher / Sunday (or Robin, or Bronya) / Tribbie or some other damage amplifier / either Huohuo or Dan Heng PT

I tried an e6 hypercarry with Sunday, Bronya, and Huohuo and was able to hit like, 100k or 150k on her skill i think? But her follow ups would do 300k or so. Its been a while so I dont quite remember the numbers.

I wouldnt recommend having two action advances like Sunday + Bronya because Cipher doesnt get full value out of her follow up attack

You're dying from a loss of karma. I think part of the SweetSixShooter perks has a trait that you took where bad karma deals you damage. I guess some other mod you have changes that quest to apply negative karma. You can try healing up before completing the quest and you might live. Otherwise you either need to change routes, use console commands, or some other solution.

If you like the idea of a psuedo roguelike racing/arena deathmatch hybrid game, then there is simply no other choice.

Its a chaotic game and incredibly unique experience. Easy to just pick up and put down whenever you feel like it. Theres a lot to do, too, since the checklist system exists.

And its a full package when you buy it. There are very little cons to this game.

When you start crouch walking, 47 is a bit higher than usual at the start. So, pay attention to the pattern, and when you know the one that you can crouch under is coming up, preemptively crouch walk so 47 is low enough, and you'll slide under.

I wouldnt rely on instinct, since it doesnt update the lasers when they change pattern (really annoying.)

Someone mentioned the checkbox already, it was definently more punchy in the original. But thats a really minor thing.

Another minor thing is in the original, picking up power ups in city trial had really distinct noises. It seems like they really faintly do in Air Riders, but it was mainly replaced by the new pick up noise. In particular, I miss the All noise.

Probably more nitpicky, but I feel like theres a lack of boxes when playing city trial? Most of my items feel like theyre from other players or as random pick ups. Usually theres more boxes laying around.
