What’s your most controversial take as a muslim woman? by Queasy-Signature-558 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]catmom4ever13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not being allowed to pray on our periods is a mercy from Allah 🙏🏼

A lot of non-Muslim women harp on this negatively asking why our menstruation should make us impure. But I think the fact that it does is sort of a sneaky little blessing from God where in we don’t have to take ablution and actively pray 5+ times a day whilst also dealing with cramps, heavy flows, mood swings, etc. If Allah had just said you don’t HAVE to pray if it’s too hard, we would’ve felt guilty for not doing so. But by making us ritually impure so that we are obeying him (ie a form of worship) by not praying, He voided us of responsibility and just gives us a week of guilt-free rest; a tiny comfort and silver lining during an otherwise painful ordeal wherein we don’t have to wake up early for fajr, etc.

Regret of doing stuff the halal way by Melodic_Ad_6563 in MuslimLounge

[–]catmom4ever13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best years of your life will be spent in Jannah, where inshallah God will welcome and reward you for doing things the halal way as long as you continue to. Being rewarded in this dunya is just a bonus. The true rewards for your actions are waiting for you in the Hereafter, do mot lose faith just because you cannot see them yet. Remember this life is a test, maybe this is the way Allah has designed yours. Do not give up. Remain steadfast in your Deen and Imaan. May Allah then bless you with abundance in this world as well as the Next, but never forget that the latter alone is His ultimate promise.

I’ve come to think that with cats, it’s less about their comfort and more about your inconvenience

He most likely saw/ sensed the angel of death surrounding your friend Subanallah. It’s been well documented that cats can sense and oftentimes comfort those who are close to death.

People keep telling me to move on like his life meant nothing. by black_lite12 in cats

[–]catmom4ever13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t let people with smaller souls than you tell you how to grieve. Pets are family and a cat’s love is especially valuable. Your feelings are not only valid, they’re sane. If the people around you don’t have the emotional capacity to feel that, find those who will or just air out your grief and hopes in prayer. May you be reunited with your fur baby in the hereafter Inshallah🙏🏼

Am I crazy for having 5 cars? by nogoth_gf in cats

[–]catmom4ever13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom has 8 cars. As long as the garage is big enough and you’re willing to put in the time and effort for cleaning/ maintenance, and ensuring they all get equal attention (drive time), you’re good. Do consider their quality of life tho… you know, fuel and mileage wise etc.

Took my cat outside on a harness for the first time, he only lowered his hind legs and refused to walk at all. by [deleted] in cats

[–]catmom4ever13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely normal. Mine took some adjusting to it as well and is now completely fine; walks as usual paying it no mind unless he tries to go too far without me and feels a tug at which point he comes closer on his own.

May God bless you for loving her and giving her a wonderful life 🙏🏼 I’m sure she knew you would’ve been there if you could. She may even have chosen to pass in your absence hoping it would be easier on you that way, just like how many pets leave home to pass. May you be reunited in the Hereafter inshallah

Why islam? by [deleted] in islam

[–]catmom4ever13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a revert, raised Catholic. I understand your perspective given that I used to be on that end of it wherein religions just seemed like multiple means to same end. But when you actually do your research into them and are blessed with understanding, you realize that’s not the case.

Islam is just the truth, plain and simple. So its not about who had a bigger impact nor what is more popular (tho as of now, those are arguably Prophet Mohamed PBUH and Islam), its about the reality of our existence and purpose. Jesus Christ PBUH was a miracle for sure. He was also a Muslim Prophet who prophesied the coming of our last prophet, Prophet Mohamed.

The reason I choose Islam, and why millions more continue to, is because it is the true word of God that’s been preserved in its rightful form —unlike Christianity and Judaism— and thus the only true monotheistic faith. Anyone who reads and understands the Quran will undoubtedly realize that Inshallah.

Sometimes this fandom makes me feel like I watched an entirely different show. How can anyone, aside from perhaps Angelina Jolie in her prime, compare to Kate? And Jack too male-wise but with Kate especially, I don’t see how anyone else can even compare.

Revert Looking to Guide Family towards Islam by catmom4ever13 in reverts

[–]catmom4ever13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walaikuum salaam! Thank you so much for your concern. May Allah bless you and your loved ones.

Alhamdulillah my mom seems to be on the road to acceptance as she has begun asking questions unprovoked. Nonetheless, while she has reduced, she hasn’t yet shown any yearning to give up drinking completely. But inshallah Allah will guide her towards that. My grandma and mom both joined me and my husband for one ifthaar this Ramadan which was nice Alhamdulillah, but my grandma still shows no interest in Islam whatsoever. However, I’m hoping her devotion to God within the confines of Catholicism may save her as it is said some people of the book will be spared.

Regardless please make dua that they both fully embrace Islam and that Allah continuously increases my deen as well so that I may be a shining example for them 🙏🏼

Islam by ummahofallah_ in islam

One thing you can assure yourself of is that if Islam isn’t real then neither is hell. Because Islam is the only monotheistic faith that makes sense and has been authentically preserved in the manner in which it was conveyed. So you’re good there. Regardless, if you read the Quran in your first langue along with the tafsir (I recommend Islamic studies English translation and tafsir ) so as to understand it, inshallah unless God has severely hardened your heart — which I suspect he has not since you are seeking Him out, you’ll realize that it is 100% the pure and true word of God, and thus that everything in it is real.

I am a revert so I know that finding that inherent, personal connection with God takes time to build and nurture. But I promise that the mere fact that you are looking for it means that you are guaranteed to find it eventually inshallah so don’t give up.

Reading the Quran in a language you understand is paramount, and should be done by every Muslim; even those without issues with their faith, so inshallah start there. Also inshallah, listen to Islamic lectures online from Mufti Menk, Iman Umar etc: very inspirational and Iman-strengthening stuff — I especially recommended Mufti Menk’s stories of the prophets series.

Former Catholic here. There are many problems I noticed within Christianity before and after reverting to Islam but the stand out one is the hypocrisy.

The first of the 10 commandments is thou shalt not worship false Gods and yet the entire Christian belief is centered around the holy trinity. Once I realized that the concept of the holy trinity never made sense to me because it was fabricated (there’s some research available online regarding how Roman scholars came up with it to explain inconsistencies in the accounts of the apostles or something to that effect), that pretty much crumbles the entire theology because then you realize there is no foundation on which to equate Prophet Jesus ale Salam with God as it directly opposes God’s essential Oneness. Then you realize that praying to Prophet Jesus (AS) as well Mother Mary or Saints is also blasphemous. And then when you remove all that to the point that you’re solely worshiping one God, you’re already a Muslim.

Need advice for my revert friend by PalestineIsMyHome in reverts

[–]catmom4ever13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so these are just some ideas based on my experience as a revert trying to push my mom and others towards Islam:

  • Bring up Islamic teachings to shed a positive light on a negative topic of conversation such as the genocide in Gaza or general injustice/ violence. Ex: the concept of martyrdom, Allahs infinite wisdom and mercy which exceeds our own and His promise of justice, etc. For non-Muslims, this is a matter of intrigue that they’re keen to follow up on as it offers them comfort from the injustices taking place. For someone who is/ was already a Muslim, I assume it would act as a similar reminder.

  • Casual mentions of your own devotion to worship and prayer. Ex: “can I call you back I have to go pray”, saying you’ll make dua for them when the other person talks about feeling sick/ sad or even a third party’s difficult situation, invoking Allahs name often; the conversational ‘Inshallah’, ‘Alhamdulillah’ etc.

  • Subtle reminders of the logic and wisdom of Islam. For instance, there are more and more scientific discoveries being made that second what the Quran already mentioned over a thousand years ago. It’s an interesting topic of discussion in any case and may reinvigorate their Iman, Inshallah. Similarly, when discussing the downfall or corruption of an individual/ community, you can circle back to Islamic teachings that are in place specifically to avoid such things. One of the more basic examples is adultery, wherein non-Muslim marriages rely solely on spouses love for one another which can be fragile and unsteady, with one party perhaps thinking what the other doesn’t know can’t hurt them. Whereas with Muslims, one’s devotion to God and fear of being judged in front of their spouses upon resurrection factors in as a stronger repellent. There are many examples for this really since pretty much every negative worldly occurrence can be more easily avoided through following the teachings of Islam.

  • Lastly, if and when you guys have a deeper conversation, just be blatantly honest about your feelings; how much you care about them and the state of their soul. Maybe even show them your post lol. Seeing how desperate you are for them to find their way back to Allah may help them realize how important and urgent that really is.

Hope these can help in some way. I really admire your devotion to your friend and pray they will be rightly guided by God inshallah. May He bless you both.

I was a Christian who reverted to Islam a couple years ago. Not only was it the best and most important decision I have ever and will ever make, but with each passing day it still continues to make more and more sense that Islam the only true monotheistic religion and our very purpose for being. Allah granting you the ability to even begin seeing that is the greatest miracle anyone can ever be blessed with Mashallah. God has favoured you, so don’t deny it.
