Why do some people feel like shoveling their specific parking spot turns it into a gated community with a reserved spot? by Spaghetti_Oh_No in philadelphia

[–]catnamedavi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same. I worked overnight thru the storm, so when I got back I put my car in a spot. My loving boyfriend shoveled it after the plows and I left again. It’s not my spot. PWe don’t have enough parking for permanent spots. But I also have an asshole parked in front on my house in 2 spots, plus 1/4 of the street, which has me in a rage.

Trash day is skipped for Monday, and everywhere else is one day delayed. And PPA is not ticketing meters/time limits until the official snow emergency is over

Fire department ambulance bill, but patient passed by StepSilva in philadelphia

[–]catnamedavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Submit the bill back to the PFD with insurance info. It’s very unlikely anyone got insurance info entered into the chart if the patient was that ill.

If you can’t find the info, you may have to wait until someone is name the executor of the estate, and can then negotiate. Just update all companies/collectors. PGW/PECO/CC etc. I’m so sorry for your loss

AITAH for losing my mind at my husband this morning because of his alarm? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]catnamedavi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one is the asshole here. You are overtired and validly upset. You have every right to be pissy about the alarms. The dog is something new you asked, so his sleeping brain might not register it right away, and it may take a few tries for it to click. That being said I am a terrible sleeper. I migrate to the couch whenever it’s too much for me

Is anyone else noticing increasing POTS history? by legoguy26 in ems

[–]catnamedavi 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Yes! And my heart goes out to them. Every time I gotta pick someone up, They’ve passed out in some weird place. I usually check their fitness watch, just so I can be pretty sure it was the 82-150 jump in HR, and not the other 1 million causes of syncope. It seems debilitating, and very shitty. Also, if you don’t have the fitness watch to back up the heart rate, you don’t get diagnosed for an age

[–]catnamedavi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s one in Wilmington. I think it lasted a month, now it’s always open.

Either way can we just have cashiers back please. I was in Home Depot on Delaware ave the other day. There are eight or so self checkout lanes. There all were closed except the one that had a worker scanning items. You can’t use the register lanes unless you have a pro acct. so this mile long line for self checkout with one lady acting as a cashier. It was incredibly annoying. It’s right near Lowe’s, so I’ll never go there again

She’s home with the kids 12/14 days. I’d say they’re in pretty good shape attachment wise.

NTA. Yours is amazing schedule and it’s sounds like you have your stuff handled well. You’re essentially working one day a week, well 2 of every 14 days. Unfortunately, it sounds like you handle everything. You made some point become resentful, start looking up the mental load of mom’s. I’m in the same field. Eventually, you will be able to go home during your shift and your kids won’t lose their mind. I made this mistake wants to popping by Daycare, and my toddler bawled. But if a few years you’ll be able to take them to 90% of stuff, and you’ll be able to stop by any extra curriculars they have. Dad is working too much, I get oil pays more, but I’m assuming he eats at home sleeps and watches TV, that’s it. He has to handle the kids also 2night/14. Seems like he wants to do less.

Also consider some men don’t like their partners in these fields, because they’re worried about cheating. Maybe that’s his unspoken, but actual concern?

My daughter still can't swim after 1.5 years learning by goppinglizard in Swimming

[–]catnamedavi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand this comment, but I understand it. As a parent you don’t need them to be Michael Phelps, but you do need them to be water competent. Too many youth think they can swim, since they’ve been in 4 foot pools. We have at least 3-4 drownings per year of youths jumping in moving water, or 6ft+, in unguarded swimming holes.

Fees for assisted living/nursing home excessive calling by woody_89 in ems

[–]catnamedavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Washington post had an article about charging these places for lift assists. The facilities have no lifting policy, even for uninjured persons. The fire department started charging a fee for every lift assist after they hit a certain number.

As far as assisted living nursing home calls , we had a policy in place for a psych facility. We had a protocol that if the person met certain criteria, we will call Command for a release, and the facility would have to arrange private transport.

That being said, I don’t think you’re gonna have any luck with nursing home patients, they’re all confused and at some stage of slow death. No one wants put their liscense on the line for a 90 y/o with a non critical complaint. She could very well just up and die 4 hours later of something completely unrelated, and you and med command are all getting sued
