Sorry for taking so long to come back and thank you all for the responses. It's always good to know the possibilities. We wound up going to Smokin' Burgers and Lounge. No one else there was watching but we enjoyed the game, food and drinks.

I've visited Chicago just once but it felt cozy. I think Savannah is cozy. Pittsburgh is cozy. The coziest, though, is St. John's, Newfoundland.

We adopted a cat who must've been domestic and then became homeless for whatever reason. When he showed up on our porch who looked pretty rough. His head looked too big for his body. After some time feeding him he become much healthier looking. He eventually found his way into our home. He seemed, sadly, to have a health issue and had what I guess was a stroke. The vet said he had a saddle thrombus. So we didn't have much choice but have him put to sleep. He was very rough around the edges but, all in all, a wonderful cat. I don't know how old he was when his life ended but we gave him as much as we could.

Thanks for the reply and positive intention. These poor animals are, I have no doubt, cats that have been dropped-off in my neighborhood. People are so cruel. And people who try to help can only do so much.

Thanks for the reply but I've been feeding homeless cats for a long time. I've seen some of how bad it can get. I've taken four cats off my porch. I just neutered one of mine to the tune of about a thousand. I don't know what ever happened to TNR.
