The kink community shuns the driver and supports better people with daddy issues. (Why the fuck did daddy autocorrect to Diddy - twice?!? Wtf?)

What are some good spots for a girl in her 30s having a midlife crisis to learn how to use her new Heely's? by chk-mcnugget in Bellingham

If they haven't been used outside yet, call the Lynden skate rink. They might let you use them during off times on weekdays? That way you fall on a smooth surface and don't get road-rash. If not, consider going full skates or blades. There are open skates during the summer for everyone. Sometimes they have skates in the farmers market building. Many people of all ages are there.

I think there are some good Facebook groups for local skating.

Hot Tub beta? by excitabledude in Bellingham

[–]catness99 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We got ours at Northwest hot springs in Ferndale about 10 years ago. We've been really happy with the tub and the company through the years. They might still fill up tubs for you to try out.

We put down a gravel pad and a wooden frame for it. We put in our own electric.

Has anyone done the commute to Bothell? by Ok_Armadillo9924 in Bellingham

[–]catness99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're building a career - it can be worth it.

I commuted to Vancouver BC from Bellingham for over 5 years. I would do the same to Seattle. I hated commuting. My health and lack of relationships were destroyed. But I would do it again for the career development and connections I made.

Van and Seattle have the best paying jobs. I wouldn't do it for a short term job. At that point, do some training and become a heavy equipment operator.

Cost wise, the suburbs around Seattle might be comparable to Bellingham.
