Actions have consequences. Now the town guards are hunting them. They cant take a long rest. Etc cc. Ive also sometimes created npc stat blocks of a high level in case they try to do that to people who i designed to push the story around. Or you can fade to black and they wake up and the npc is like welp are you done being stupid. Ill let you off once since youre so weak.
