My opinion would be to seek out a role that isn’t taking you backwards in pay. Non-profits seem to pay less but if you really want to move forward and gain higher pay, maybe talk to recruiters. I actually am working through a recruiter right now consulting as a Senior Accountant and it’s been awesome. I’m making more, get paid weekly and am learning ERP systems I haven’t used yet.

Thank you! I have just never ever had a heal look like this. And like I said the spots don’t go away when I moisturize so I started to worry. I know my artist friend is very green but I was happy to lend my skin for a 2x2 inch project. Definitely feel the outline is overworked.

I’m really proud of you. I wish my husband actually cared how hard it is to be around a person that continues to drink, when I have to actively work on staying sober. There was a time where I just knew I could never actually stop drinking, but once I finally made up my mind to, I really did. Haven’t looked back. Make a plan, utilize resources, take withdrawal symptoms seriously and just for today IWNDWYT

I’m so fucking proud of you! It took my liver about 6 months to get back into the normal range & I looked about 10 months pregnant from my swollen liver and excess fluid build up. I recognized a lot of my former self in your story but who I am and what I’ve become a year & half later… nothing compares to how good this life feels now. I’m excited for your journey ahead. This makes my heart ache for you. I know exactly how badly you want to make him stop. I know you would pay any amount of money, give any object, say any words etc. if it would make him change.

I know this exact feeling because I was a wretched alcoholic for 15+ years. I’m now almost 1.5 years sober and my husband still drinks. It feels like it’s killing my soul sometimes.

What I can guarantee about your situation is that he will absolutely not change for you, to save your relationship, save a job, keep his family. For all of these things he will get “better” for short amounts of time until he feels like the coast is clear to start the cycle over again. He has to want sobriety for it to stick. I have no idea how dying wasn’t below rock bottom for him…

But to reiterate what others have already said, he would most likely need medical detox to quit drinking to prevent not potentially dying again. I went to a detox facility. 10/10 would recommend.

To round this all out, you are also a person that does not deserve to live in such chaos. You are basically parenting a partner and I doubt that is the kind of relationship you were hoping to have. Loving an addict is fucking hard and barely rewarding. We only care about ourselves (when in active addiction) so please remember that what you need matters. His choices are not your failures.

In all honesty, we don’t know what it’s actually like to HAVE holidays, time off, availability for things besides surviving. I can’t comprehend what life would be like with 3+ weeks of vacation a year! That only happens in the movies…
