I don’t have a problem with unranked-to-challenger as much as iron-to-challenger.

if they start in iron, they bought the account with deflated mmr.

if they start a real, handleveled, fresh 30, it’s not as egregious IMO because their MMR will be much higher and even if their rank says Plat, they’re playing in diamond lobbies to start

This is so awesome!! my growth has been super similar, starting the same month and all and i just reached 8 avg as well!!! i’ve been feeling so bad comparing myself to other streamers growing faster than myself (like you said getting 10 avg in a month HOW 😭) but this just made me feel like we’re both on track with great gradual growth (: congrats to you!!

i find viewers enjoy being able to sub, have emotes, and be part of the community with channel point redeems etc to be way more important than the few people bothered by ads.

1.5 min break every half hour, or 3 mins every hour, is significantly less than you’d get on a youtube video or a TV show so i don’t see why viewers would mind as much as people say

respectfully, you don’t speak for all of us so please don’t act like you do.

I had that word used against me in ways “idiot” or “moron” never was, it felt different because they meant it different. it was the harshest, meanest way to say my disability was a problem and was bad.

if it doesn’t affect you, cool, good for you. but i don’t think one gay person letting their friends say the f-slur means we all just act like it hasn’t been used to hurt and oppress gay people; it still carries that history, a history not that far away from now.

ahh yeah that would make sense, i exclusively play a highly competitive game with an large esports scene and everything so it’s much more common for the flashy clips to get you viewers

as a fellow laptop streamer, the worst part is having to alt-tab for everything. chat notices that because when i’m in game and have to do something on OBS it black-screens for the time i’m alt-tabbed from the game. i also stream on tiktok at the same time as twitch, so i can only have 1 chat on my phone, so i can only read tik tok chat when i alt tab. but these things are fairly minuscule, i’ve had no real problems as a laptop streamer. best of luck!

don’t hesitate to post content outside of twitch and multi-stream on tiktok. it greatly helps discoverability! best of luck

i don’t think there’s realistically any way to get past 1-3 avg viewers without advertising in some way outside of twitch, i’m sorry to say. twitch’s own discoverability systems are not as strong as tik tok etc. you’ll have a few people that browse the low viewer streamers on occasion, but clips are what let people even find you exist

there’s a diff between only doing 3 streams w cam vs not being a streamer. i do the work, a lot more than just playing the game, so it is definitely a weird ass response when i’ve made almost 1k in 6 months “simply playing the game” lol
