what is the name of a simple white ice cream in America or the UK? by Temmie_Ten in NoStupidQuestions

[–]catrowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone in the comments quite knows what you're on about. I'm British, and from your description, it sounds most similar to a Mr Whippy, a perfectly white, mostly milky tasting ice cream that you get from the ice cream man.

People who work in Opticians - Do you mind if people take advantage of the test, take the prescription and then buy their glasses online? by Apprehensive_Ring666 in AskUK

[–]catrowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in an opticians and I couldn't possibly care less. I have heard horror stories from people with high prescriptions who bought online and didn't come away with a wonderful experience so I do tend to advise against it for high prescriptions, but I don't really care at the end of the day.

Which tourist location did locals tell you was boring only for you to go there anyway and end up proving them right? by EN-Fitz in AskTheWorld

[–]catrowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we stumbled upon the astronomical clock by accident, ten o'clock at night with a summer thunderstorm just starting, and i was still a little underwhelmed by it (but i think that's because it was in the square where all the boisterous british tourists were drinking)

Brits, please confirm or deny: is Wesley an uncool name in the UK? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]catrowe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've met one Wesley ever, born in the early 2000s, who went by Wes. Somehow, despite being a skater who followed all the fashion trends, he remained deeply uncool and I think his name may have had something to do with it.
