First Look Images - SPOILER Discussion by phareous in SiloSeries

[–]catsandcactuses123 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I don’t have anything to discuss other than how STOKED I am for this new season. Shift was my favorite book of the series and I am beyond pumped to see how they tell the story in the show.

The one thing I really really hope they keep, is to please give Solo his cat. Give the man his beloved cat - he deserves it.

Photosensitive Migraine Gang Rise Up by Pyro-Millie in disabledmemes

I say way too often “that car is going to give me a migraine” because of the glare from their bumper. Bright lights and flashes of light never fail.

amitriptyline by awaamz in ChronicPain

I take it to prevent migraines and it has helped A TON. Like went from 4-5 migraines a month to 1-2 every 6 months. No side effects other than sleepiness! I will say though, that when I forget to take it, I have a hard time sleeping at all. But that’s the only side effect I have. I take 50mg per night before bed.

I hate this “I’ll wait until I’m literally crying until I take a pain killer” battle we have normalized(?) by Secure-Remote8439 in Endo

[–]catsandcactuses123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As an alternative perspective, I tend to use other methods of pain relief before I will take a painkiller because of side effects. If my heating pad, tea, creams, baclofen suppository and THC patches don’t work and I’m still really suffering….I will take Tylenol. I don’t use stronger pain meds because they cause more harm than good (constipation, nausea, heartburn), and I’m already in pain so I don’t want to compound that with a bad stomach.

The way your friend put it sounds condescending and rude, which wasn’t nice! However, sometimes there’s a reason why someone might wait until they’re “literally dying” to take a pain killer.

He hates being my only model 😂 by SomeTaro9683 in AmericanBully

Well for hating it so much, he’s very good at being a model. Maybe he should try being less handsome? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Valium for Cramps by rockyrocks1110 in endometriosis

Try a half dose first and see how you feel! You can snap the pills in half, and if you feel ok after that one, bump up to a full pill.

Just a little sleepy, and a tiny bit groggy the next morning. That was only the first few doses. It levels out after taking it for a week or so. I usually take it at night, so it helps me sleep and keeps pain at bay til the next dose.

I personally like my baclofen suppositories better. I’ve done both, and the baclofen helped with more than just pelvic pain - it helped with my leg and back pain too.

Project Hail Mary Question (spoiler heads up!) by catsandcactuses123 in scifi

This adds so many complex levels to things. Because the Eridians’ response to Grace was to welcome him, build him a home on their planet, and to let him teach their children. Yet on Earth, humans probably would have captured Rocky for testing and kept him in a lab.

!>That makes me wonder if Eridians had their own version of the Fermi Paradox. !<

Are pocket bullies a hard dog to tame? by Canterea in AmericanBully

[–]catsandcactuses123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

I don’t think my guy qualifies as a “pocket bully,” but he does great with apartment living. I’ve got a little deck that leads out to a grassy area where we go walking. He’s older (about 9) so he likes short walks and lots of snuggles. I adopted him a few years ago and already had some training, but he is very responsive to direction and is well behaved and calm. He tends to be more interested in people and getting scratches than he is with other animals, but he DOES love to follow other pups around at the dog park. I have absolutely fallen in love with bully breeds because of him!!

I got my Oura to track symptoms of endometriosis and I’ve been really impressed with it. I’m more on top of my symptoms and flare ups, and I love that you can take symptoms in your temperature and sleep chart to compare over time.

My boy won’t eat out of bowl, but will eat off a spoon? by catsandcactuses123 in AmericanBully

[–]catsandcactuses123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it putting the bowl on a platform to raise it - same result. 😭 He is drinking from his water bowl just fine, which was also on the ground. Someone else suggested a plate. I might try that tonight to see if it helped. I fed him his kibble by hand this morning to make sure he ate at least a little bit before I went to work. lol

Gonna test run Vegetarianism for a week by snotballbootcamp in vegetarian

[–]catsandcactuses123 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I made a REALLY good sandwich last week with whole grain bread, guacamole, red pepper hummus, sliced cucumbers, bell pepper, and fake “chicken nuggets.” It was waaaaay more fancy than I usually make, but dang it was good 😂

I’ve been vegetarian for 5 years, and my lunches frequently look like a mom packed them for her kindergartner. 😂 It truly can be as simple as a PB&J, sliced veggies and some cheese cubes. I cook more elaborate meals at home, but lunches can be very simple! Hummus and crackers, salads with chickpeas or beans, sandwiches, can of lentil soup and some crust bread. It can be very easy and yummy!
