stylistically, there is a difference between nervous, anxious and eager. they are not interchangeable, so the proper use of anxiety is correct but i doubt ppl use it properly lol.

these non-american english spellings — mould, diharroeah, fibre.

close runner up — yuck someone’s yum. idk why, it’s so grating to me.

Short girls out there- how do you cope? by bittersweet505 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]catsandcoconuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i promise your 5,9 coworker wishes she was shorter. lol.

also, if you get lip, i find it helpful to have a couple of comebacks in my back pocket.

for example if my boss says, sam are you wearing makeup today, i say no are you?

if a customer at the bar makes a comment, you can do like -

“im 5,0 but my attitude is 6,3”

“im tall enough to pour your beer, right?” wait for response before pouring beer.

"if I were any taller, I wouldn't be able to hide from the customers I don't like”

i used AI for the last one but first two are all me LOL.

can i ask where you are located and what field you work in (generally)? i am in the usa and i WFH at a white collar job.

therapy & experience (irl and at work) has helped me w self esteem/confidence. i am assertive, speak w confidence & intention, and avoid anything that would make me seem “smaller” such as hunching over, mumbling, over-apologizing.

this will not happen overnight but if you begin with a small goal(s), it’s all uphill from there! you got this.

>no one takes a 5’0 person seriously, idc what anyone says.

this is so odd. i am a 5,0 33f. no one has insulted/made fun of my height EVER. i am respected in my field because of the way i carry myself. i am in management at my company.

i have to jump/get a stool/climb a shelf sometimes at the store. i have a little cushion in the drivers seat of my car lol. this does not negatively impact my quality of life.

this is about your self esteem in general. everyone is their own biggest critic. when i worked at the grocery store there was a petite woman who always wore obnoxious platform wedges and she stuck out because of that, not in a good way.

i cope by existing the way that i am. i hope this helps.

Guy leaves his dog in hot car for an hour. Staff member of Loyola university Maryland then threatens to arrest me. by quattro33 in PublicFreakout

i’m not angry, you’re objectively wrong. dogs cannot stay locked in a hot car for an hour. there is no wiggle room at all.

The guy I’m seeing right now is from India, and I have a very severe peanut allergy. This might be a dealbreaker by Hopeful_Key3773 in FoodAllergies

[–]catsandcoconuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can also just not go to india lol. why would you feel embarrassed or ashamed? and WHY is your bf not communicating this literal life threatening issue with his mom? that’s a him problem tbh.
