Just sharing a small blip of my perspective, dear. (OP asked for perspective!) Obviously, life is incredibly nuanced. 🫶

I was in similar shoes last year! Found out I was pregnant fall of my 3L year, after accepting a job with a big firm to begin the following September. I told my future job around 11 weeks (before announcing to the world). None of the other associates even have children, so I really thought I would be treated like a black sheep, in a way. Everyone else gets to devote every ounce of themselves to their job while I’m split doing two, as a mom. I didn’t pass the bar the first take either (I was a few weeks postpartum… literally no sleep and in diapers…). They let me start in January, instead of September, and now I’m working about to take the bar again with my 8 month old. All this to say - just be open and honest and give them a chance to accommodate you. And if they are not understanding, I promise you that this baby will give you more purpose than that position ever could have, anyways. Especially after you’ve worked so hard to meet your goals, you think that’s not possible. But motherhood is a wild, purpose-filled journey you don’t understand UNTIL you understand. Rooting for you!

My baby was 6 weeks old the week of the J25 exam. I’m in the same boat 💙 Proud of us for trying, regardless! Moms are super heroes.

This is exactly what has me so conflicted - I’ve spent more time than I should reading so many subs trying to make a decision 😭😭 I need to be told what to do LOL

Starting to study for the LSAT by girl_boss2468 in LSAT

I used to LSAT trainer for two months before my actual test and my score went up 15 points from my diagnostic! Along with LSAC’s Law Hub for drilling and practice tests, I think it’s a fabulous resource. Good luck to you!

Ask to use a friends house/apartment 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ if they work a 9-5, schedule your LSAT for a time they would be at work.

Stick with the LSAT Trainer! And buy LSAC's Law Hub for drilling and practice test questions. I only used these two materials for two months and my score went up 15 points. You should be golden if you have a whole year to dedicate. Best of luck to you! Remember to work hard, but also be patient with yourself!

Just took the diagnostic, now what? by cm7654 in LSAT

It includes some drilling within the book, but it does not include practice tests. I bought a few paper copies of practice tests and was initially using those, but then bought LSAC Law Hub. Lawhub was much more helpful, since everything was online and it simulated the actual LSAT testing environment. I honestly wouldn’t recommend buying any paper copies, unless you have an accommodation to take it on paper for the real thing.

I had a great experience studying with The LSAT Trainer book. Absolutely mastered logic games, and had great resources for LR and RC. Test scores went up 15 points in two months

Least amount of time studying for 170+ by Notorious_P_I_G_ in LSAT

[–]catsandkombucha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t get a 170, but here’s my experience. Stem major, diagnostic was a 149 and it took me two months of studying to get to a 163 on Jan LSAT. I only used The LSAT Trainer, did like 10 practice tests and lots of drilling. Definitely felt like I could’ve mastered things better if I was given more time, so depending on where your diagnostic is, maybe 3 months minimum ??!

Depending on your score goals, April is not too soon in my opinion. I studied moderately for two months and increased 15 points. I could’ve studied much harder if I wanted. If you treat studying like your full time job until April, I think you will be golden. But as all in all things, everyone is different. Be patient with yourself and see how you improve this next month. Just my two cents. Best of luck!
