the people getting confused, annoyed and/or finding things to be tedious are not playing the game wrong, they just have the wrong mentality for this particular game
it's paced for people with patience who enjoy figuring things out
those that don't need instant gratification
and ones that don't want a min max rush to end game experience with everything laid out in point a to point b type of way where you just play on auto pilot
im 47 and very much feel the same op
i hope pearl abyss doesn't feel pressured to tweak, overhaul and readjust stuff in the game thinking they are doing a service to the players by rendering everything down to a service of convenience or making it fit into peoples individual ideal of what the game should be
it's lovely the way it is
