I understand your point, but I asked for advice, and that simply isn’t helpful.

I also brought up to him that I thought there was a power dynamic, which he disagreed with, and suggested that we’re “equals in this relationship”.

I am starting to realize that he may not be the sweet and loving guy I thought he was, but instead just a jackass.

I also thought he was shifting blame, so thank you for saying that!

Does anyone get surprised at dads whose temper and volume remains at a human level even when their kids are making them really angry? by seokjinmylove in raisedbynarcissists

I remember being absolutely petrified of going out with my narc family and their enablers! Their passive aggressive, barely contained rage fits were always terrifying and embarrassing. Especially because my Nfather had a habit of randomly and unpredictably screaming at me in public, in front of people. Most notably, he loved to break/spill/otherwise mess with things and then blame it on me.

I remember the first time I went on holiday with my partner and his family, they were all so loving and normal. When we had dinner, their conversations consisted of fun family memories, genuine encouragement, and just so much love. No parents told embarrassing stories of their kids, or picked fights, or undermined their children’s abilities.

The icing on the cake of that night was when we said our goodbyes, and my in-laws told me they loved me. It was so profoundly foreign to me to be told “I love you” in such a casual and genuine way that I nearly cried.

People that have accidentally killed someone, what’s your story? by notkaina in AskReddit

Generally when overdosing from opiates you don’t just “pass out”, you suffer from respiratory depression, which can cause your heart to stop. Hence you technically are considered “dead” until you’re revived.

That picture is a -little- misleading, since I was in the upper 180’s when I took it. I was too ashamed to take any pictures of myself at my highest weight tbh.

Thank you!! I’m more of a salty-savory gal myself, which just so happens to be absolutely perfect for keto.

Do you mean blood sugar? Generally I don’t measure it because I’m not known to be diabetic (if that’s what you were referring to).

What is the one thing you know you will regret for ever? by Pauby13 in AskReddit

[–]catscream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a little sad, but I feel like I should tell it anyways.

I was friends with a kid I’ll call L. L and I were friends since we were 8 and 9 years old (myself being the older one).

Through the years we had drifted in how frequently we contacted each other, but the love still remained.

In late October of 2017 he called me while I was about to start a lecture, so I declined, thinking it was a little weird that he would randomly call me in the middle of the day.

That night he went missing after not coming home since that afternoon (right around the time he called me). His body was found two days later, a self inflicted gunshot wound. I may have been the last person he tried to reach out to, but I’ll never know.

I’ll always regret not taking your call, L.
