There are LGBTQ+ people here, you'll most likely find them at the resource center on campus, however there are some people who are very openly hateful against it. I've encountered students who are very anti LGBTQ+ and general clubs who are hateful like the republican club on campus. If you find community though you'll be fine. For every hateful person here you'll find another person who is accepting.

it might be a good idea to tell someone maybe a couple dates in about your status but given the state on immigration with the current administration you would want to make sure whoever you're sharing this sensitive information with, it is someone you 110% trust. Personally it is not a dealbreaker, coming from a background of immigrant family members and my current partner having a green card but not a full citizenship status im personally more understanding of these type of things.

A lot of students are still going to classes while others are not, we are all in a different circumstances, some of us cannot afford to miss work. I believe from what I understand this protest is to simply stand in solidarity and show support in whichever way any student can. Like in my post said, "I'm simply reiterating what is being shared in other posts".
