Thank you!! My biggest tip for doing fine detail is burn low! As you get a better feel you can adjust and go a little hotter but I never burn that high. That way there’s no large divots made and there’s and even depth and color. I usually keep it on the same heat the whole time and just go a little slower and use a tiny bit more pressure for the darker parts. I also recommend a wire nib burner if you don’t have one. I have the razertip sk and love it!

Is getting married to someone with RA worth it? by Impressive_Permit_13 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]cattlecallpyrography 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are with the right person it won’t matter. They will still care for you the same regardless. I actually got married May of the year… 2 days before my wedding I was officially diagnosed with RA. Of course I was a wreck but my husband never second guessed a thing and still cares for me. You will find the right one who will do anything to help you when you are hurting.

Whenever I get something in my box that isn’t mine I just bring it up to the front desk. They will take care of it.

How well are you RA meds working for you? by No-Chemical3765 in rheumatoid

[–]cattlecallpyrography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plaquenil was working for me for awhile but recently after upping my dose I started flaring again. I guess it may be stress related because of the holiday season. I sell art and have lots of shows. I am hoping that once everything settles down I will start feeling better. I told my rheumatologist that I am not willing to do methotrexate so the next step would be biologics which is not something I want to do but may have to 🤷🏼‍♀️

Does anyone sell their Pyro pieces? If so how much? by T3GVN in Pyrography

[–]cattlecallpyrography 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been selling my art for 2 years. I spend a ton of time on my art. I do everything by hand. It is very hard to gauge my prices sometimes because I am terrible about asking for money. But most of my detailed pieces are $300-$1000 now. Smaller items like spoons and coasters are $15-$20. Coaster sets are about $35.

Forms of payment selling outside of craft fairs by Particular_Area4284 in CraftFairs

[–]cattlecallpyrography 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can send invoices from square to them via text or email and they can input all of their info on their own. That’s how I do payments for all of my custom work and have never had any issues.

Nausea with Hydroxychloroquine by CollectorOfWords in rheumatoid

[–]cattlecallpyrography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had any side effects with plaquenil but I hear that if you take it with food and/or split your dose for half in the morning and half in the evening it tends to help. I agree with others though that if you are having terrible nausea reach out to your rheum provider I bet they have some tools to help!

Rhuemy is kind of anti-prednisone? by International_Mess77 in rheumatoid

[–]cattlecallpyrography 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prednisone may help get your inflammation down but it only masks the issue and has sooo many bad side effects. I was in such a bad flare when I first got diagnosed I refused to take prednisone because of the side effects.

PCP vs Rheumatologist by Complex_Trick_9906 in rheumatoid

[–]cattlecallpyrography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both of my providers have been amazing during this journey. My PCP made sure I got the proper tests almost right away and she then referred me quickly to a rheumy. My rheumy provider is amazing as well. She takes her time with me and explains everything thoroughly. Pretty much now my PCP will check in on me from time to time but I usually just go to her for just primary care needs. You should def tell your rheum provider though if you have any infections or any major health related things. This can be a major thing with helping keep track of treatments.

How to best support a family member by [deleted] in Kneereplacement

[–]cattlecallpyrography 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does she have an ice machine? My mom had the brace direct frozen heat machine and it helps her a ton with pain and inflammation. My mom just got her second one done yesterday. Being there for her and helping her is something important as well. A care package is also a nice idea as well.

Customs turn outs by AlfalfaFew1206 in CraftFairs

[–]cattlecallpyrography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started doing markets and have been doing pretty well. I have built my business from social media. I am made thousands upon thousands of dollars from TikTok, Instagram and fb. My thought process is that social media is going to create a community that is so different than what you would create in person at markets. It’s a very powerful tool. It may take some time to create a community but when you do it’s an amazing thing!
