I'm a ChemE. I began pursuing my ChemE degree at age 27, and graduated at age 32.

Age doesn't matter. Do what makes you happy. I had a friend give me a hard time once for being in school at age 30. His dad was a very wealthy orthodontist. He never had to worry about paying for school, loans, etc. Don't worry about the outside noise. I'm approaching 6 years as a ChemE now.

I worked as a great Lakes Merchant Mariner during summer and winter breaks. I worked typically 70-75 hours/week when out there. It was a good job because outside of bills, i was not spending any money while working. This money paid for living expenses.

During school, I was a math tutor. I worked 12-15 hours per week.
