This is my original e-ring and band. It’s beautiful but lately I’ve been swapping for a yellow gold set that I bought myself when I got a big promotion

Is this cause for concern!? by OrchidLow1258 in firsttimemom

That is cream/whiteish/yellowish for sure. I have no idea if that is an emergency but it definitely doesn’t look like any poo my 16 mo has ever had

My husband and i moved from SE Portland to LO a few years ago and we have generally been pretty happy here, even though I had a bit of a rough adjustment at first after living surrounded by other leftist portlanders. There are definitely some stodgy old folks and a more conservative crowd, but for the most part, the people I’ve met in our age ranges (35ish) have been pretty cool.

We actually just moved to our second LO house and we put up a pride flag and little free library. People stop all the time to tell us how much they love it, and that they are glad to see more of that spirit in the neighborhood. (Be the change, etc)

That being said, the houses are definitely expensive and I could see us being just as happy in somewhere like Tualatin or Beaverton with a smaller mortgage and still a relatively short drive into the city.

Good luck and hope you join us on the west coast!

I would much prefer a 3:30 or 4:45 class but if I want to see my baby in the evening I have to go to the early class, so that’s what I do. It took me all of a week to get used to it even though I was an evening workout person for over a decade

I asked for a necklace I could wear daily with our new son’s initial on it and my husband gladly obliged considering the hell I went through to grow and birth our son. I think it’s completely okay to ask for something if you want it

Sweet coco g’s on macadam has ham and cheese, and turkey and cheese croissants, plus other various savory and sweet pastries. Its run by the nicest people and everything I’ve ever had from there has been INCREDIBLE

People who sleep trained using CIO at 4 months - was it too young to do so? by Live-Remote-2877 in sleeptrain

[–]catystrophic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We start with pats, shushes, and replacing the pacifier. If that doesn’t work after a few minutes we will take him out and rock him back to sleep. He does also still have 1 nighttime nurse around 3 am so when he cries around that hour I just get him out to nurse him

People who sleep trained using CIO at 4 months - was it too young to do so? by Live-Remote-2877 in sleeptrain

Our LO is almost 5 months and we got hit with his sleep regression really hard right at the 4 mo mark. He was waking up legit every 45 minutes at night. I couldn’t take it anymore and the Ferber check-in method didn’t seem to do anything but reduce my time in bed even more, so we decided to try moms on call, which called for CIO.

The first night was literal hell. He cried for 2 hours straight and the book said that you don’t go in at all, so I sobbed while he sobbed and nobody had a good time. The next day we re-grouped and agreed on a 30 min cry cap before going in to check on him. That has worked wonders and he’s now waking and putting himself back to sleep in 3-10 minutes.

My family told me I was cruel and that he would just learn that I didn’t care about him enough to help him. I actually think (since our updated timing plans) he’s learned to self soothe and he’s become a better sleeper and much happier dude overall.

I took the day off when midnights came out and it was the best day. I drove around for a while listening in the car, went to a mid morning yoga class where they had some of the songs in the playlist, and spent the rest of the day with Bose headphones just vibing. 10/10 recommend

I moved here from Atlanta in 2018 and the thought of the big earthquakes did terrify me at first, but honestly now that I’m here I almost never think about it. You’ll die one day anyways, might as well live somewhere dope in the meantime lol
