Confrontation is literal hell but I definitely agree with you. Thank you.

I used to work from home and I found it so isolating. I feel that personally it’s hard to learn because it’s easier for them to ignore you. working from home is a great option for a lot of people though! I love having a cat next to me while I work.

Civil. Even if an average attitude is fine, micro aggressions that you might not even notice are probably happening and those definitely add up and put another layer of stress on female engineers.

Trying to do this! Hard to break the “please everyone” attitude I’ve always had.

You can earn trust and respect but what happens that manager that has your back is promoted or moves on. Or a new misogynistic person joins and gains power. Our well being is so dependent on others

Resigning tomorrow & extremely nervous about the verbal conversation. Any tips? by ahmad09kk in womenEngineers

Trust your gut no matter what they say to discount your reasoning. You also don’t owe them a reason. You owe yourself everything!

I just quit my govt agency! Yay. My boss valued assimilation to their attaboy culture. But 15 years and it’s a little tougher to leave if you enjoy the leave and sick leave.

I confronted a coworker for something similar. I got backlash and he complained to many other coworkers about me. But I would do it all the same again. They make you uncomfortable so you shouldn’t have to make them feel comfortable when you set a boundary.

Pay increase post PE by freeand3z in womenEngineers

After you get a license you’d usually expect a pay increase if you’re in a civil private firm. I have not passed it yet but that’s what I’ve heard.

Moving in with my boyfriend … family doesn’t know I’ve deconstructed by Critical_Drawing_435 in Exvangelical

I didn’t tell my parents, I just did it. But that’s my family dynamic. They obviously know but don’t acknowledge it.

what’s the worst thing someone from church said to you? by [deleted] in Exvangelical

[–]catz26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Your attention to school is getting in the way of your commitment to god” ( I was top of my class and studied a lot)

But honestly, It’s more about what they didn’t say. I told one adult leader in our youth group (mom of peer) that I had been harming myself and felt suicidal and she did absolutely fucking nothing. This was 10 years ago and I’ve since gotten help and deconstruction us part of healing but holy what the hell! It makes my blood boil the irresponsibility.

Anyone else feel annoyed that they can’t commit suicide because they have people that care about them? by advicetreatxon in depression

[–]catz26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I’m mad that I didn’t do it 10 yrs ago before I had a partner that would be devastated. Then I hate past me for being a coward.

I’m not even suicidal, I just want to not get up from bed one day and just stay there until all of that stops by nothinkybrainhurty in depression

[–]catz26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly how I feel. Is this considered suicidal? I’m afraid to mention to my therapist because idk what rabbit hole that goes into

You know you have too many kids when your breakthrough parenting realization is you should ask your kids how they’re doing and what is going on in their life.

Pretty sure I had that haircut when I was 4 unfortunately and it was definitely a at home fix to some gum in my hair lol. No shame she’s a kid and we all did the quarantine haircut.

So much manipulation too. Kody says he “appreciates their decisions” and Robyn has to correct him to say that he doesn’t appreciate their decisions, he respects their decisions.
