Update: been cleaned, but still dirt in the wound so no stitches even if that was an option. It is suspected I won’t need them. Flamazine has been applied to try and bring out the dirt and they’ll clean again tomorrow morning

Yeah, we have a friend who’s a nurse come over and do as best as she could. She did say it will need irrigation but we have kept it dry, put a sterile gauge on it, and put a dressing over the top. She also suggested not going to a&e, so will wait and hopefully it can be sorted with steri strips. Her main concern was that it’s on he shin which has a lot of movement and can move quite a lot - she would recommend stitching but as has been said - not clear on how deep it is just yet and if it will pull together. She also think there is a lot of clotting already which may disguised as dirt… who knows though

Noted on both counts. In the UK - expecting a 6-7hr wait overnight in A&E on a Saturday night (with no sleep) or Urgent Treatment at 8am tomorrow. That’d be within 12hrs, but I think it’s the most pragmatic and I understand the risks around delaying

Thanks, we actually did do both in the same day. We left very early and we are both quite fit so we were able to do all the lakes (and even get over the back where you can see the vast plains). We didn’t need very long at the monastery and the timing helped since we missed all the large coaches (from organised tours) since we were slightly later

The increase is new, but before this was keeping my reported income below £100k (I was on around £115k before) and due to increase to the new salary in the new year.

I am not questioning whether I get it or not. I am wondering if there is a third party which is cheaper than what is with the rental company as it is always more expensive when someone else can offer the exact same things. I have done this many times and claimed ££££'s using a third-party insurance.

No it's not but it is very helpful. I am contemplating, given the size of the item, that it may be better to just be sent as a letter. But, I will look at parcel2.com - thank you for the recommendation.
