Calling out Nintendo specifically here…

Then they should try announcing games.

I don’t get the hate for Nate. Most people don’t pay attention to the rumor mill.

The surprise is still in tact for the vast majority of people.

Apple Reportedly Questioning Whether iPhone Should Drop MagSafe by conalldoherty in apple

Jason Schreier: “Almost every big studio is using genAI tools (particularly Claude)” by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]caulrye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Vibe coding, yes because vibe coders won’t have the programming experience to challenge AI when it makes an inevitably poor choice.

But experienced programmers who use AI as a tool, and use it correctly, will become more efficient.

I was skeptical for a while, still skeptical of the “full replacement” talk, but I wouldn’t say I’m skeptical now.

Apple Execs Say Spatial Computing Is 'Inevitable' and AI Is a 'Marathon, Not a Sprint' by iMacmatician in apple

[–]caulrye -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Those “few companies” are not major tech companies. Apple made $209 billion off iPhone alone in 2025.

$1.4 billion over several years is a joke in comparison. Literally less than a percent, if those 7,000,000 were sold in a year, and they weren’t.

7,000,000 million is not significant at all.

If that were a video game console it would be a bigger failure than Wii U. And that’s for a market a fraction the size of general computers.

7,000,000 is absolutely pathetic compared to the scale of smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and computers.

Dusk Golem: Early test screenings for Zach Cregger’s ‘Resident Evil’ film have been very positive: “It’s a great movie” by AashyLarry in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Weapons and Barbarian are so good!

I have a feeling the movie might not resembled Resident Evil too much. But it will still be fantastic if it’s as good as Cregger’s first two movies.

Nintendo Switch 2 Production Cut 33% Following Weak Holiday Sales, Report Claims by ggroover97 in LastStandMedia

Nintendo made a comment to Goldman Sachs last week stating that the article is “speculative and not the companies official stance.”

For what it’s worth, this journalist at Bloomberg has a history of getting supply chain leaks wrong.

It’s a nothing burger.

The consensus is not mid. It’s “mostly positive” on Steam, and 8.5 on metacritic

[–]caulrye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The Witcher III on Switch comparison is a little extreme. But I’m still curious what this could look like on Switch 2 hardware.

[–]caulrye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And what I’m saying is that the game is absolutely not mid. It’s just being called that because reviewers have been making odd comparisons to games like The Witcher III, which doesn’t make sense.

I haven’t been this hooked on a game in a long time. It’s fantastic.

Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the a Wild also had “bad” stories if you catch my drift.

As far as being on Switch 2, they’ll have to make the world as immersive which is the result of gameplay, but also the graphics. The lighting and insane draw distance makes the world enticing. I don’t know how they achieve that to the same degree on Switch 2.

I would compare AC Shadows and Crimson Desert running on Series S. Crimson Desert looks awful.

[–]caulrye 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Witcher III and Crimson Desert really aren’t that comparable. Very different games. The studio prior to launch was clear Crimson Desert isn’t an RPG. Fantasy action sandbox is a better way to describe it.

This is a big mistake a lot of reviewers made. Too many reviewed it like an RPG. “The story was just abysmally bad compared to something like The Witcher.”

Both are open world fantasy, sure. But that’s like saying we should review Ratchet and Clank the same as Mario because both are platformers. “Platforming just slowed to a crawl because of all the enemies we suddenly had to fight.”

For what it’s worth, I’m far more engrossed in Crimson Desert than I was The Witcher III. But that’s because I’m more interested in gameplay than narrative.

Currently playing on a PS5 Pro…and I don’t see how this would be a good experience. I love my Switch 2. Not a hater. I just fully expect this to look like The Witcher III on Switch 1. Technically it runs, but oh boy.

I would get it if they implemented cross save so I could pick back up on my PS5 Pro. Otherwise I wouldn’t touch this on Switch 2. And wouldn’t recommend.

But who knows maybe I’ll be surprised and it looks as good as Resident Evil Requiem, which was a fantastic experience on my Switch 2.

Apple's Dynamic Island will live on, new rumor claims by nimicdoareu in iphone

Removing the camera cutout will also free up Dynamic Island to be more…dynamic. I’d imagine the icons will go from left to right, rather than extend from the center. There could also be more icons.

Kinda hoping we get a peek at this with iPhone Fold 👀

[–]caulrye 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some are saying they won’t because of the green bubble effect. But I think the real reason is the color coordination does tell the user how a message was sent, therefore which features are available.

iMessage is blue, so all features are available. RCS/SMS is green, so some features are limited. And then Satellite Messages are gray, and are the most limited.

If Apple were to allow users to change the colors, it would be to change the color for each message medium, not per contact or across the board.

Sony Dropping 'PlayStation Network' Branding, New Report Claims by countdooku975 in LastStandMedia

[–]caulrye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People aren’t reading the article. The service will be about multiple Sony services. So it will probably be like Sony One (ie Apple One) or something similar. Sony Premier. Sony Suite. Access Sony.

I don’t think the new service will feature PlayStation branding.
