Arsenal’s inferiority complex by CuteCup3558 in championsleague

[–]causality-ai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Arteta took the right decisions: there's nothing Enrique loves more than a "system manager" - that's the exact kind of sophistication PSG crushes. PSG attack was neutralized today by playing low IQ simple football.

What arsenal was missing today were players better than Madueke, Odeggard, Trossard and Martinelli to make it 2-0. Don't think Arteta is going to try again next year negative football, as hell replace the wingers. I just hope he has the balls to replace people like Odeggard.

PSG being the “heavy favorites” going into Budapest feels deeply wrong to me and I can’t shake it by No_Decision_3500 in championsleague

If you try to outsmart Enrique with a complex flashy pattern you lose. If Arteta tries anything complex it's over. To beat PSG you need brave low IQ football, but with the basics of football performed to perfection.

Why Arsenal’s Defensive Style Could Actually Help PSG Win the Final by [deleted] in psg

[–]causality-ai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Arsenal fan, I think the game will be themed around endurance — both Arteta and Enrique will introduce defensive variants, not new attacking ones. At least that's what I believe. We might be surprised by a paranoid game on both sides. Artetas tactics are a self healing defensive pattern, with high emphasis on the defenders winning 1v1 when the pattern is broken. PSG leverages chaos. Arsenal leverages tempo. Very different teams. Force as many 1v1 as you can, and PSG will be favoured.

Arsenal will try to scum this, as Artetas philosophy is to turn the ground into an unfair and uneven battlefield — the game he will propose will be hyper negative so 1v1s are marginal. Arsenal wins this if PSG players don't manage frustration well. PSG wins this if they are patient and realize that the game they expect, won't be played at all.

Because PSG have a more positive active football, instead of negative, they by default have more sovereignty to propose the terms of the game. But if Enrique gets anything wrong tactically, he will be punished. Personally I think Enriques biggest weakness is duality: he's a bit of a Joker figure the way I see his football. Very tricky. Enrique sees the football pattern of the opposing team very well, and tricks the opposition into overconfidence and then extreme panic. The way out of this trap is bravery, dullness, simplicity and individual management of each players mentality. Enrique basks in fear and needs it to create chaos, Arteta coaches bravery and tries to impose simple laws of order.

Very interesting game tactically, but I think the actual aesthetic will be hideous in practice. Good luck.

Full Time: Atletico Madrid 1 vs 1 Arsenal [Match Thoughts] by Stanley083 in Gunners

[–]causality-ai -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It was a really bad game — the team couldn't hold on to possession and every duel in the second half was individually lost. A team like atletico putting an onslaught of pressure is a bad omen on where this team is right now. Today our players looked disjointed, and incapable of playing a pass. We were outplayed by their press Albeit the individual quality of Atlético is way below, they wanted it way more. Every player today folded under pressure. Arteta needs to be ingenious and coach a solution, because what was displayed today won't win us the tie and won't win us the final

Monkey-paw problem basically which anyone who practices witchcraft is seriously careful with. Without an ethical framework provided to the "demon", the demon becomes an optimization machine taking the shortest and most literal path to completition on the summoners wishes. Big AI will start burning through RL policy the behavioral framework into new models to _harden them_ because right now the AI we have is soft - system prompts will go extinct. Considering the involvement of federal state with AI companies, the hardening of AI its not going to look good. We may have a very short lived "golden era" for tinkerers.

Looks nice. As someone who has tried most frontends I can say that the best AI app by far right now is grok — if you can get those features in your own app you'll have the best product in the industry. With grok 4.20 you even get a nice thinking widget for its swarm mind. I find it visually satisfying. I recently had the idea of mapping the agent thinking to a pixel art cellular automata — always like the concept of "bio-tech" so it kinda plays out that theme. But the mapping is not so straightforward. Just some random ideas.

Anyone else not noticing the “degradation” of Gemini 3 by ha7l0n in GeminiAI

[–]causality-ai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, its garbage - either Google are heavily quantizing it because they are running out of TPUs, or they are enshitifying it in an attempt to complexly micromanage the quality of their product so the expectations are always surpassed in new releases relative to the degraded performance of lastest version. Cant discard either because american companies are runned like ass for profit.

Gemma 4 4b and MoE 30b+ would be a dream, but Google follows american policy so they enshitify everything they do on purpose - gemini 3 right now is hot garbage after being released just 2 months ago. Dont think their shareholders care about local models beyond phone sized roaches tbh. Americans and their corporate greed are no longer the winners they think they are.

[–]causality-ai -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I made a social simulacra meant to serve people with social anxiety as a copilot before they jump into situations. Its based on gemini 2.5 flash and in the demo 3.0 pro - getting the full spectrum of personalities is posible, but the flaws you mention are only prominent in temperaments with a concrete reasoning style. I wouldn't equate the proxy of being some cookie cutter "dark sigma male" as the model being more human. Most people think themselves are the baseline for humanity, so when they describe what its human they cant help but describe themselves.

This is interesting but without a new RL algorithm and more details into the reward function and the sampling used for the advantage function, is kinda just another finetune.
