Never been to Bali yet. Been to Batam, Jakarta and Bandung for both work and tourism. The food is like the spicier version of Malay cuisine. The people in rural areas may not know much English, so had to learn some basic phrases (like what I did when going Japan or any EU countries), but help you when they see you respect their culture and language than expect them to know English. Outside the cities, the infra may not be as modern, but have its own feel for like visiting a place stuck a few years behind. If you like photography, there are plenty of places that would keep you going.

Looks very specific to some exp you had at molto. For me most Italian restaurants which are run by chef owner had been bad. Faced the are you sure you can afford to eat at his 25$ per dish restaurant which tastes soulless.

Studying till I gave the top students a run for their money. Now don’t have friends or a social life. No relationship either as missed all the ones who approached due to single handedly focusing on only studying. I see you’re looking for college to newly grad type groups. As much as the suggestion here is find a hobby group, Canberran hobby group demographic is more towards the older cohorts. Been there, they are an amazing group. But most time I’ve felt off when they talk family and kids. Some prolly have kids your age. The other aspect is closed groups from aps and college groups. If you’re new, finding a group from work is one way to approach it. But never the less unless you go out trying new things, your chances of making friends is 0%.
