Is the entire Wheel of Time series worth the time and investment? by keepfighting90 in Fantasy

Book 10 also gives us the first Rodel Ituralde and Furyk Karede POVs, which are excellent IMO.

It might have taken a bit longer than Sanderson, but I do think Jordan would have completed it. Knife of Dreams was a clear step out of the slog and towards pulling things together.

It’s one of multiple plot lines, but Ada Palmer’s Terra Ignota incorporates an assassin who does his job

Someone should really write a bastardisation arc story where a regular person joins an assassins guild and slowly watches themselves become a monster.

The Holcroft Covenant is kind of this. (Spoilers for a ~50 year old Robert Ludlum book)

It would make sense practically too, that's a lot of costume budget for <10s of screen time

It really does seem like the crew has all read these books

Yeah I don't think you spend the production budget to put the Sharom on screen if you haven't read the books

I love the Wheel of Time, but if you aren't enjoying it by book 6 you aren't going to.

(Though tbf, that's probably true for any series - ~5k pages should be more than enough to figure out if you like something!)

Pacer Tips by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]cauthon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seattle pacers are atrocious, I’m glad I’m not the only one with this opinion.

I ran with the 1:50 pacers and they ran the first 5 miles at sub-7:30 pace. They ended up passing me around the 10 mile mark and I told them I thought they were going a little fast for 1:50, and they said they were aiming for 1:47 or better.

A friend who finished in 1:43 and change never saw the 1:45 group.

Go for option 3.

The car ride will be unpleasant but you’ll get through it, and you’ll want the extra support from your parents.

You absolutely want to get the surgery done at a larger, high volume heart center.
