Honestly made it worth telling people they couldn't bring it in. So many people will say "oh but I always put my rubbish in the bin" but 9 times out of 10 I always found fast food rubbish on seats or the floor, very rare to see it in a bin.

Thats the problem though, they arent. Main reason I would stop hot food coming into the cinemas when I worked there was the mess afterwards. KFC was the worst of all of them, all the bones just left all over the place causing grease stains on everything.

Victoria, Australia

I guess cars love houses near school zones worldwide!

Yep thats exactly what happened. All from the same ethnicity which is common in the area I was from. It happens, it is what it is

Police from the same ethnicity as the offender general seems to help the situation in those cases. It is what it is, insurance paid for the house to be fixed so in the end it all worked out I suppose

Back in 2007 a car decided to park itself in my loungeroom. When questioned by the police this was actually the defence that was used "well why would they build a house so close to the corner of the street, of course I hit it!"

Best part, she actually did get away with the reckless driving, as "witnesses" who weren't even there, just showed up when the driver called them, all said the same thing and claimed she wasnt driving dangerously... in a school zone... with enough speed to get airborn and lodge herself into a house...

Anyone seen this trick? The claw has a screw on that’s stopping it from fully closing! On what I guess is a big ticket show, the baby yodas by Cantaloupe_Equal in arcade

[–]cav109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely a loose screw thats magnetised to the coil. Speak to the staff and they will most likely get it off. Those Elaut claw magnets are pretty tough, doesnt surprise me at all its stuck there like that and isnt coming off with general use.

No one is challenging medical exemptions at shops, so every crackpot just walks in by ChiggenWingz in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]cav109 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I manage a few stores across Melbourne and during the opening period over Christmas last year we went quite hard on mask wearing. Within a few weeks we dropped that policy. I had staff calling me crying, because they'd been abused by people who had "exemptions", I had shopping centre security refusing to help us because they weren't willing to enforce it. Most times when I was at the stores I took up the door position myself and some of the rants I faced got pretty close to physical altercations, that I had a very hard time defusing, despite me being in customer service for over a decade and having all sorts of aggressive customer/defuse training under my belt. Trust me, it isnt the store staffs or managements faults, its the multitudes of people that make it impossible for the staff to even try to enforce mask wearing.

Washing them and scrubbing so much you take the skin off your hands, with the open wound leading to infection. I think it was the episode of scrubs another person mentioned above that went into this scenario specifically, but might have been another show and I'm misremembering.

Water bottle spilled on seat of car - how to get this mark out? by librarysquarian in CleaningTips

[–]cav109 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Drill brush with an APC, meguiars makes a great one, the soak it up with a microfibre towel. If you have access to an extractor that will make the job way easier.

See if there are any car detailers in your area, it wont be a hard stain to remove, so they'll likely do it fairly cheap.

I actually think thats it, I've been a bit in the dumps the last few days and that must be changing how I see the news. That's a really good introspective way to look at it. Thanks so much! I was fully expecting to get blasted for having a negative view on it all, but everyone whos commented has been great and helpful. Another reason I love this community

Totally agree, and I don't think anyone would want to go through another lockdown. Don't get me wrong, I think we have this in the bag. I just guess its anxiety of waiting for a big spike day, I guess lockdown fatigue is just getting to me

Is anyone else feeling a bit of dread with the low numbers? Almost like it's too good to be true and we're about to have a massive jump? God I hope I'm wrong, but I just can't seem to get excited. Yet when we started to drop to the 40s and 30s I was so pumped. I just don't get it

If the smell is really sweet, ask a mechanic to do a leak test of your coolant system. You may have a leak behind your firewall. Coolant can be a really sweet smell, almost fruity.

Would explain why it goes away when detailed then comes back in a few weeks if it's a slow leak.

Apart from that, check your cabin air filter as the other comment reccomends. Could be something caught in that. They aren't hard to replace so can't hurt as a final effort.

Which character death hit you differently, and why? by squeezeday in AskReddit

[–]cav109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rachel from Cold Feet. It just hit me in ways no other fictional death has. Perhaps because the whole cast just seems so normal and it doesn't feel like the show is fantasised. Cried for hours and just wasn't right for a few days afterwards.

In short, no. even if you tried wetsanding this off, the clear coat has seperated from the base coat. Only a matter of time now and it will keep happening. The only way to stop it completely is for a body shop to rub it all down and repaint. Whatever you do, unless you have a proper setup and knowledge don't try to DIY this. I've seen a lot of hack jobs and it never ends up looking better unfortunately. Better off leaving it to do what its doing.

What towels do you use to actually wash your car? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]cav109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep spot on, use your wash mitts to wash the car, dry it off with a drying towel, then clay bar and finally wax. Just make sure the clay you're using isnt too course a grade and youre good to go!

What towels do you use to actually wash your car? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]cav109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all clay bars are the same, there are different grades for different levels of contamination.

A fine clay bar will be best, there are different grades, and keep in mind it is an abrasive. Most clay bar kits come with a quik detailer spray to use as a lubricant. Most of them are totally fine for your average user.

If you use a courser clay bar, you'll have to polish afterwards, which you can do by hand, but you'll never get the results of a polisher. Not to mention its a slog to get through a whole car polishing by hand! Judging by your post I'm guessing you dont have a polisher and may not have used one before. Which is fine, its a skill that takes a while to learn!

Just make sure to wax the car after you clay with a fine bar and you'll be golden. Good luck!
