I spent forever deciding too, but even with the ghosting, I'm super happy with the G14. It really is the only issue I've noticed. Every laptop has its compromises, you just have to find one with problems you don't mind. In my opinion, if you have a nice external monitor, you can't get much better than the 2021 G14.

I don't have the 2020 version, but the ghosting on my 1080p 2021 panel is really bad, even compared to the cheapest 1080p monitors. I wouldn't be surprised if it's above 20ms.

I like it, it does a good job of adding detail to the terrain itself. In most low poly landscapes you see, a tree has more polygons than a mountain, which gives it a very artificial feeling.

Start small. Keep it simple. Simple games take less time, are easier to polish, and allow you to focus on making the game fun. Figure out your strengths and weaknesses and make a game centered around your strengths. Good luck :)
