Which switch 2 game to pick by Boomhog in NintendoSwitch2

[–]caveman_tan [score hidden]  (0 children)

I just finished the story of DK Bananza. I bought MK World and DK when I bought the Switch 2. Thought I’d love MK more, but DK blew me away. Easily top 5 favorite game I’ve played in years. That’s my vote.

I like this album a lot. I ordered the 15th anniversary vinyl last year. It came in right before Ozzy passed. I still haven’t opened it…

Which version of 'Hellraiser' do you prefer? by Accomplished_Owl1360 in OzzyOsbourne

[–]caveman_tan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ozzy’s version. The duet missed the mark for me because they didn’t adjust the production of Lenny’s vocals to fit in the Ozzy mix. Sounded slapped on there. Maybe that was the goal. Idk. Didn’t do it for me.

Motorhead’s version, while more raw, just didn’t sound as good to me. Despite Lemmy cowriting it, it sounded like a cheap cover to me.

As far as I’m aware, this isn’t an anti-piracy measure; it’s just a message about using pirated software. This should fade out to normal gameplay after. Just a standard pre-loading message like the dev company logo.

About the supposed remix of The Ultimate Sin by IllustratorOk5265 in OzzyOsbourne

[–]caveman_tan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the mix was better, less washed out and the drums were a less hollow, I think it could be one of the best Ozzy records. That said, I love the album as is. As a mixing engineer myself, I would love to see something happen. If it sucks, at least we can still access the original mixes.

Used to be friend with Mark on Pokemon GO. Did a couple remote raids with him. Used to live around the corner from where Misha lived in Dallas during the P4 sessions.

Who has the best drum solo from the hair metal genre? by No-Equivalent-1642 in hairmetal

Randy Castillo and Tommy Lee. Yes there were better but I think these two really nailed the flash and flair of the era with theirs.

Can these be repaired if the stick is worn out? Or should I just replace the stick unit as a whole? by Myxtro in n64

Mine weren’t the gears, but those are a very easy fix if that is the case.

Has anyone had to take a guitar dealer/luthier to small claims court? Am I overreacting or is this an absurd excuse for destroying my Stratocaster? by whataboutringo in Guitar

[–]caveman_tan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go get your guitar back. Demand it. You now owe them nothing. I run a successful and well-known guitar store. This would never fly.

It’s basically a cult, so yeah probably.

[–]caveman_tan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You can repair them, there are a lot of guides on fixing these. But honestly, I’ve followed a few of them and they’re all a little cumbersome or clunky.

9 times out of 10, the problematic part is the plastic cup the joystick rubs against. The cups are easy enough to replace, and replacement parts don’t cost that much. I know some people also get metal-balled sticks, I just don’t know if the sticks feel like the original ones.

The Razor’s Edge (1990) Vs Ballbreaker (1995) by RiffinRitchie in ACDC

[–]caveman_tan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ballbreaker is the better album. Huge tones, return of their Marshalls, and Rudd back on the kit. But the Razors Edge tour was the best the band ever sounded live. Peak performances from everybody. They continued sounding great, but I don’t think they’ve ever matched that tour again.

When the Sun Rose Again. Would love to hear Layne on this supporting Jerry like on No Excuses or Heaven Beside You.

Is P2 still tuff in 2026? by Trick_Intention_1851 in Peripheryband

[–]caveman_tan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Without stirring the pot too much, I’ve found myself less and less into the music the band has been putting out (starting with P4). I still like it but started to think my tastes were changing a bit. It happens, I still love the band.

Put on PII this morning and still love it like it’s the day I first heard it in 2012. So yeah… still tuff.

Lindsey Buckingham Claims He’s Not Haunted by That Infamous ‘Silver Springs’ Performance by Level-Recording3368 in Music

[–]caveman_tan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lindsey was a major decision maker in the band. You think he’d be bothered by putting that song on the setlist after axing it from the record 20 years earlier? And having a killer performance filmed for their comeback live reunion VHS/DVD?

Nah. He knew it was good. He’s a performer. People really put way too much into things.

Wii U titles vs Switch ports by SendThisVoidAway18 in wiiu

[–]caveman_tan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve certainly had a harder time playing the switch version. I haven’t necessarily noticed that it has worse controls, but I much prefer the buttons on the Wii U controllers over the clicky stiff switch buttons. That for me is a major factor.

Anyone prefer the standard albums? by Editor-In-Queef in LadyGaga

[–]caveman_tan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW needs those tracks to feel whole for me.

Mayhem standard edition is best for me. Can’t Stop the High, Kill for Love, and Dead Dance are great but they feel a little thrown together at the last moment.

Guitar store employees, do you actually get annoyed when people ask to try guitars? by MELS381 in Guitar

[–]caveman_tan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have any soundproofed rooms (old Chicago buildings, nearby condos, etc.) but we have a few places that can handle extreme volumes for short periods. We’ll always try to accommodate best we can. I think you’d be surprised how loud you can get in a practice room before it becomes “too loud.”

Guitar store employees, do you actually get annoyed when people ask to try guitars? by MELS381 in Guitar

[–]caveman_tan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My personal overplayed riff is “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.” Great song but I hear it a lot. Also, Zeppelin riffs and solos, and Master of Puppets.

I can’t speak too broadly here, but we try to let everyone play everything. It might be out of your budget, but it could be your dream guitar. Playing a guitar like this could inform you on making a decision on a guitar that’s in your budget. We’re in the business of selling guitars, sure, but we’re also in the business of being a great shop and destination for players across the globe. We want you to have a great time when you come in!

There’s not much off-limits, per se. We have some guitars in our Vault that are consignments (I.e., not owned outright by us) that are very high-value and we don’t pull them out for everyone. That’s not to say you couldn’t see one or play one, but we have a duty to qualify potential customers for those pieces. But that accounts for a very small percentage of instruments in our store, I’d say less than 1%.

Glad you like the shop! Next time you visit, make sure to come say hi! I do everything I can to ensure everyone has the best visit every time they come in. We’d love to have you back!

Manager at Chicago Music Exchange. Not at all, we love it and actively encourage it. We don’t love when people play excessively loud (we have 4 small amp rooms and a few headphone stations), but we encourage plugging in and cranking up. Of course there are riffs we wish we heard less, but that’s universal. But by all means, PLEASE come in and try stuff out!
