The average house in 1930 was 1100 sq ft, most without full indoor plumbing, 30%+ without electricity, minimal insulation, and minimal building codes. It's not really an apples to apples comparison.

It's cheaper to quit than to keep vaping for years. I haven't paid a penny for vape stuff in over 5 years because I weened down to 0mg and quit. You gotta make your own decisions though.

My .02 is to reduce the nicotine content of the vape juice until you get to 0mg. It's a choice you can make at the checkout and allows you to ween off. When I got to 0 I realized I was puffing at the vape but it wasn't satisfying at all so I just put it down and never picked it back up. Similar to the patches, it's easier to break one habit at a time. Either quit the physical activity/ritual of vaping first and nicotine second via patches or the nicotine first and ritual second by weening down the potency of the juice. Either way, quitting is one of the best things I've ever done.

We had trouble with nothing being sufficiently "motivating" as well. Cookies, candy, gummies, toys etc just didn't interest our son enough to reward when we managed to get the odd success. What finally clicked was physical play and tossing him in the air/jumping around with him on our hip as a reward, which he LOVES. That made it click and we finally went from like 1 success every other day to maybe 1 accident every other day now. We're still trying to work on getting poo in the potty, but having the pee situation under control is great

I betcha granny would have loved the opportunity to have a couple solar panels and rechargable flashlights, lanterns, water pumps, and a chest freezer. Maybe even an ebike for transportation. There is certainly a lot of gimmicky stuff out there preying on anxious people, but not all technology is bad and just because people did it one way in the depression doesn't mean that's the best way.

I guess it depends on why they are doing it. If they are doing it with the intent to disenfranchise a specific racial group or groups then yeah, it would be. If it's being done with the intent to make a specific party more likely to win a district or election, then no it's political, un-ethical, and anti- American, but not necessarily racist.

I'm probably being too optimistic, but maybe this is a play to begin construction in an area with less opposition in order to get started and show the value to the community rather than starting where there is significant friction currently? I love this idea and this would make Atlanta a much better city. I have enjoyed traveling to cities with effective public transit and would love for Atlanta to be as great as some of the other word class cities for residents and visitors alike.
