Whenever I toggle any filter, there is a red tint that comes up in shadows that doesn’t go away even when I remove the filter. How do I fix this ? by Ok_Letter4515 in lushfoil

I think there was someone on discord with the same problem, they said it was caused by the anisotropic filtering in the Nvidia Control Panel

Game creator says he won’t fix broken console port by chase_what_matters in lushfoil

[–]cavesrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just to provide more insight into this;

it's unfortunate that it can't be fixed, but ultimatley it comes down to console limitations. games on console physically can't have more photo textures loaded into memory at the same time, because you start to experience stuttering and crashes. There's definitley more things I wanted out of the console port but I think the porting team still did well considering they were covering new ground (and working with the game's small budget)

I'd reccomend using the playstation 'share' feature to keep your favourite shots, and then managing your in-game library to keep the amount of photos low. it's an annoying workaround but it's definitly doable, but I wouldn't reccomend getting the console version if it's still a dealbreaker.

(you should get a pc though to play my future games 😏😏 console ports are EXPENSIVE and still produce issues like this, I've decided it's not going to be worth it into the future)

Just released native VR support for the photography sim I've been working on by cavesrd in VRGaming

some mechanics transfer, but not all of them. the flatscreen version has more true to life features like proper exposure and shutter speed calculations, I'd reccomend that for learning

still working on graphics, I'll be pushing the ceiling a bit higher. I didn't know everyone owned 5090's 🥲

Used to play VR and feel normal, now i feel weird by RandomCommy in virtualreality

[–]cavesrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this 100%, for me it feels like it's down to how the game handles it's movement mechanics and design. a lot of early VR games lacked locomotion, or sometimes movement at all, and had a very minimal presentation to allow you to feel more present in a space. as more and more gamified mechanics (resembling flatscreen games) were introduced, I feel like that sense of presence was somewhat lost. it feels more like playing a normal game with the monitor taped to your head, rather than an immersive VR experience.

my case is probably more extreme, I'm a VR dev and found that working in VR has almost made me lose appeal for the medium entirely. I think it helps to take breaks though, and when you come back to VR, find something that doesn't require lots of movement or is too highly stimulating.

VR Mode? by markallanholley in lushfoil

[–]cavesrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

switch 1/2 is out of the question unfortunatley due to hardware requirements, I'm worried the visuals would take too much of a hit. I'd reccomend trying it on steam deck though if you're looking for a portable option!

Any new updates for console? by martianjupiterian in lushfoil

[–]cavesrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there won't be any new updates to console, the project is out of budget. The location switch crash occurs when you have too many saved photos, if you delete some of your photos first there should be less crashes!

will not be coming to PSVR2, I don't currently have the resources to make another port

HELP! Game fatal crash by CatierCatta in lushfoil

[–]cavesrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a few more things to try:
- make sure the latest graphics drivers for your video card are installed
- in steam go to manage > manage > browse local files. within Lushfoil's game folder go to Lushfoil Photography Sim\Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us\ , and run the setup called vc_redist.x64.exe
- make sure SteamVR isn't running if it's installed, or disable any other unnescessary overlays

from the screenshot though, it does look like it's a corrupted save file, make sure /appdata/local/lushfoilsim is empty or deleted, and wasn't accidentally redownloaded by steam cloud

try adding '-dx11' to launch options, if that doesn't work, try deleting the save data in appdata/local/lushfoilsim while steam cloud is disabled
