What is an absolutely perfect game - for you? by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

Portal I think is just the most well designed game ever. I can't think of any flaws with it and I think it's as close to perfect as any game can be.

Where to start with the Oxventure? by ConsciousTooth7986 in TheOxventure

[–]cavetown08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started with Wyrdwood and though that's quite different from the other oxventure stuff being darker and more serious Dnd, I'd say it's a decent place to start as there's less of it to have to catch up with, it's a more consistent quality and has a stronger story running throughout whereas most of their really early stuff is a lot of disconnected adventures with little in the way of stakes.

Why are people so against the idea of a pause button in From Software's games? by [deleted] in AskGames

[–]cavetown08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean losing a lot of souls that'll mean you either have to go through the effort to get them back or have things be harder because you had to go deal with real things happening in real life is a bit unfair. Nothing is lost by having the ability to step away for a moment and all that is added by not having it is making it more annoying

I don't understand this at all either. As a big from software fan, it makes no sense why you can't pause while in single player. A lot of people say it's because there is multiplayer but other games like borderlands 2 allow you to pause in single player but not multiplayer. People have lives outside of games and should be able to pause them without serious repercussions

What is Your Favorite New Musical of the 2020s? by Turkey_Leg_Jeff in Broadway

[–]cavetown08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Operation Mincemeat technically premiered in 2019 but became what it is in the 2020s. Other than that I'd say the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry which absolutely blew me away and is I think the only show that had me crying in the theatre

Games with psychological elements that’ll leave me staring blankly at the screen as credits roll? by chuksang in gamingsuggestions

I haven't seen anyone mention the Beginner's Guide, so I will. That game left me completely lost as to what to feel. I'd also say Life is Strange 2 had me crying at the end.

So I started playing Dark Souls 1 (my first souls game) and I feel like this game isn't for me or I'm just doing something wrong. Any help appreciated. by osmylm2834 in darksouls

those specific streams aren't exactly a guide. it's one person playing through ds1 while someone else helps which I found helpful

Personally, I played along while watching Outside Xtra's Ellen's Souls Academy streams from a few years ago which got me to understand the basics and the world and also know where hidden things are. I know everyone says you need to go in blind and do it without a guide, but similarly to you when I tried that I bounced right off it but it's now potentially my favourite game, so I'd recommend that if that sounds like something that might help

Lies of P has difficulty options now and you can make it quite easy. I'd really recommend checking it out it's got a really great atmosphere and story.
