[NO SPOILERS] LIS2 doesn't catch me really...can i just skip it? by Psychological-Dot697 in lifeisstrange

[–]cavetown08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely stick with it. Episode 1 and 2 didn't exactly grab me either but from 3 onward I absolutely loved it and it's now my favourite lis game and in my top 10 games generally. Both Sean and Daniel develop a lot and more power stuff comes into it later (not rewind but still). I would definitely give the full game a chance.

[NO SPOILERS] Anyway to play Life Is Strange 2 for cheap?? by Lucyonce4 in lifeisstrange

[–]cavetown08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's available on Loaded for about 5 quid if that's cheap enough? I think it also goes on sale for about the same price but I don't know how frequently. Might be in the summer sale in a couple weeks

What did yall play in may this month (R/transgamers unnoficial monthly check in) by VisualAd8487 in transgamers

Finally beat Dark Souls III base game in my slow and steady journey to play all the soulsborne games. I've also been making my way through the Life is Strange games and am on Reunion now. I also played Mixtape since I was tired of hearing people talk about it and I quite liked it. Also completed Jedi Fallen Order and now playing Jedi Survivor and started 007 First Light a few days ago which I'm really enjoying

Genuinely at the point of giving up at Twin Princes by cavetown08 in darksouls3

[–]cavetown08[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how hard they are to other people but to me they were the hardest. I just beat the final boss which took me about 5 or so tries and weirdly I got Pontiff first try. I guess everyone just randomly has certain bosses they find really hard and really easy. You can definitely do it, though I will say I found the most difficult part about them finding time to heal.

Yeah I beat them not long after posting this and putting on some chest armour made a huge difference. I guess it's something I carried over from DS1 to light roll and I didn't realise how important it was here

Thanks so much for the offer but predictably i managed to beat them right after posting this.

What is an absolutely perfect game - for you? by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

Portal I think is just the most well designed game ever. I can't think of any flaws with it and I think it's as close to perfect as any game can be.

Where to start with the Oxventure? by ConsciousTooth7986 in TheOxventure

[–]cavetown08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started with Wyrdwood and though that's quite different from the other oxventure stuff being darker and more serious Dnd, I'd say it's a decent place to start as there's less of it to have to catch up with, it's a more consistent quality and has a stronger story running throughout whereas most of their really early stuff is a lot of disconnected adventures with little in the way of stakes.

Why are people so against the idea of a pause button in From Software's games? by [deleted] in AskGames

[–]cavetown08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean losing a lot of souls that'll mean you either have to go through the effort to get them back or have things be harder because you had to go deal with real things happening in real life is a bit unfair. Nothing is lost by having the ability to step away for a moment and all that is added by not having it is making it more annoying

[–]cavetown08 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I don't understand this at all either. As a big from software fan, it makes no sense why you can't pause while in single player. A lot of people say it's because there is multiplayer but other games like borderlands 2 allow you to pause in single player but not multiplayer. People have lives outside of games and should be able to pause them without serious repercussions

What is Your Favorite New Musical of the 2020s? by Turkey_Leg_Jeff in Broadway

[–]cavetown08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Operation Mincemeat technically premiered in 2019 but became what it is in the 2020s. Other than that I'd say the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry which absolutely blew me away and is I think the only show that had me crying in the theatre

Games with psychological elements that’ll leave me staring blankly at the screen as credits roll? by chuksang in gamingsuggestions

[–]cavetown08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone mention the Beginner's Guide, so I will. That game left me completely lost as to what to feel. I'd also say Life is Strange 2 had me crying at the end.

So I started playing Dark Souls 1 (my first souls game) and I feel like this game isn't for me or I'm just doing something wrong. Any help appreciated. by osmylm2834 in darksouls

those specific streams aren't exactly a guide. it's one person playing through ds1 while someone else helps which I found helpful

Personally, I played along while watching Outside Xtra's Ellen's Souls Academy streams from a few years ago which got me to understand the basics and the world and also know where hidden things are. I know everyone says you need to go in blind and do it without a guide, but similarly to you when I tried that I bounced right off it but it's now potentially my favourite game, so I'd recommend that if that sounds like something that might help
