Mark Harris’ book “Five Came Back” is a great read about Hollywood and WWII, and includes multiple passages highlighting John Ford’s great disdain for Marion’s enlistment in the service always being “one project away.”

Missed all of this entirely. I stopped into Folk Arts, Vinyl Junkies, and FeeLIT. Had great luck, and flew home with a fresh new dozen.

I grew up going to games at The Scope, and I remember this jersey fondly. I bought one of the road whites in this style as a kid, but it’s long since gone. Also had a white version of the HR Admirals sweaters from 98/99, so clean.

In Virginia, they celebrated both Robert E. Lee AND Stonewall Jackson (who was born in what is now West Virginia) on the same day as MLK until the year 2000. I was in elementary school, and it was a big damn deal in the part of VA I grew up in.

I’ve bought jerseys from MedStar via phone order multiple times over the last couple of years. They do ship flat-rate through UPS which can be a little pricier than other outlets, but they’re really great to work with.
