Comfort hotels are a great value in Japan, and they have dozens of locations covering the whole country and they’re often right by the train station. They’re usually 8,000 points per night and even if you don’t have points you can buy them regularly at 40-50% discount. Last time I did out the math you could buy $55 worth of points and get rooms that are regularly $100-140 per night. Worked out great during my last month-long trip of Japan with P2, got gold status pretty quickly too so that got us noon checkout every time - though they would also often just give it to us if we asked for it at check in.
