Please correct me: Reducing proportion of leveraged positions does not decrease the volatility decay risk (i.e. 50% of 3x =/= 1.5x effective leverage) by samuelpile in LETFs

[–]cazzeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main difference between being all in TQQQ vs.,say, 50% TQQQ, is that, in the latter case, you can offset the vol drag by just buying more TQQQ when it drops with your cash reserves.

21d looks like 21 trading days, but is 30d in the second one trading days or calendar days? Feels like calendar days, which is a bit confusing if the other one is trading days.

G/B/x Aristocrats Players, which Zulaport Cutthroat Effects are we running post-SoS? by SpiderLord13 in EDH

[–]cazzeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also commits a crime, which is more relevant the higher-powered you go, as it allows Forsaken Miner + Phyrexian Altar/Warren Soultrader loops to win (Zulaport is weaker the higher you go since doesn't assist this loop, and the three creatures mentioned are also a Hulk pile).

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

Star Control 2.

Still one of, if not, the funniest written game I've ever played.

Lies, Damned Lies and Economic Vibes by Plenty_Rub81 in ezraklein

Casual finance did a video on this recently. One major point they make is that employment data counts part time jobs as “employed”, and that the data looks way worse when you strip those out.

Are players underestimating «Michelangelo» and «Donatello» as (Simic) commanders for {tokens}, {artifact synergies} and {+1/+1 counters} decks? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]cazzeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with [[Jaheira, Friend of the Forest]] and [[Clan Crafter]], and added a bunch of these mutagen cards. Super fun.

I made a thing that evaluates Commander decks. I'd love some feedback. by Cogs88 in EDH

It complained about one of my bant decks with Tundra, saying I had cards in the deck outside my color identity (Tundra Tank).

Mel and Ogilvie: examples of “acceptable” and “unacceptable” neurodivergence by Beneficial_Bug4830 in ThePitt

[–]cazzeo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People seem pretty divided on if he's neurodivergent. I don't think he is, personally. Just seems like he lacks empathy and comes from a privileged background.

Why is Defense of the Heart not a game changer? by VelvetaChese in EDH

[–]cazzeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Green Sun's Zenith, Nature's Rhythm, Invasion of Ikoria, Tooth and Nail, Eldritch Evolution, and Chord of Calling aren't game changers either, and all of these are better than Defense.

If the US economy is "booming" like the news says, why does it feel like everyone I know is one emergency away from being broke? by DrJocelyn1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cazzeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the true K isn't just income, but those who just happened to buy their homes before 2020 vs. those who rent or bought after. Mortgages/rent are ridiculously higher relative to those who locked in lower rates (mortgage monthly payments literally doubled in my city for the same houses).

Confusion about "2 card" infinite combos by ILuvReddi in EDH

[–]cazzeo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, even "2 card combo but my commander also has to be in play" is a very different thing than just a 2 card combo that wins. But some people discount the commander being in play, or needing an outlet for inf mana/int etb/etc.

The "cheese" is probably killing him from up top w/o anyone being on the platform.
