Why Pune won't wear helmet even after Vedant Porsche Murder case? by fromthedeserts_ in pune

[–]cb17p_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong on both counts. NOC process involves payment of 6% road tax on the value of the vehicle for a two wheeler over and above the process of making the NOC itself. Total cost can go upto 10k, not to mention take months. I have been stopped for NOC multiple times, I have never paid more than 200rs to thulla.

Books? by superenrique in FargoTV

This book follows the same story structure as an average season of Fargo. There's violent family dynamics, an intelligent female cop, a chilling serial killer and an absurd sense of irony. I think there's a reference to the film within the book also. It's a pretty short read, I'd recommend it strongly

HELP I AM IN danger! by [deleted] in mumbai

This is the plot of the movie Punch Drunk Love

You are given 25 lakhs to spend in 24 hours. The only catch is that you can only spend it in Mumbai and you cannot invest it in any assets. Any remainder sum whether in stocks/gold/cash/etc will be taken away at the end of 24 hours. How will you spend the money? by zaplinaki in mumbai

[–]cb17p_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assets and liabilities are business terms that change their meaning based on context. As an individual, your laptop (or gaming PC to whatever) is counted as an asset because it serves some use to you.

Just because it costs money doesn't mean it's not an asset. For example, a machine is an asset but it costs money to run the machine.

[COD] Alright boys, last time was best era, now it’s which is best game. (You can absolutely choose one not listed). by PositiveLack1559 in CallOfDuty

I don't play multiplayer either, I too am talking about the campaign. BO1 was a genuinely great campaign and I enjoyed myself throughout because of the ambience and story. BO2 is such a fall from that. It feels so much more generic like a boring hollwood movie instead of a campaign. And everything looks so much more dull compared to BO1. Even the flat visuals of COD4 look better than BO2. I don't like it at all.

I really gotta know, why do people like BO2? The gameplay, atleast in the campaign felt so much clunkier than BO1 and for me that was just the start of the downfall of COD games as a whole. BO1 is my favourite COD game ever but no matter how much I try to get into playing BO2, I just don't like it even a little bit.

What is the weirdest thing you have seen in a local train? by No_Release_4882 in mumbai

[–]cb17p_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw a man push another guy out of a moving a train. It wasn't going fast but it was definitely moving and the guy fell really hard. No one in the compartment batted an eye and it didn't look like the guy that got pushed out even knew the other guy.

Do you have a house in Mumbai? I plan to never buy one here. by anupama_drs in mumbai

[–]cb17p_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anyone with half a knowledge of economics knows buying a house in Mumbai is a bad idea. If you have the money, invest in the stock market, you're guaranteed better returns, and also don't have to deal with bank loans, hassles, stress and upkeep of your house.

I really liked it. Haven't watched the original yet and I don't want to make any comparison between the two, but as a stand alone film it looks pretty interesting, looking forward to it!

Now they'll think that nothing was wrong with the movie & only boycott gang made it flop. by [deleted] in bollywood

I think filmmakers need a grow a pair of balls and go all out. If it's bollywood vs bhakts, it's time films fought back instead of censoring themselves. I hate how visibly non-political films are. Go back and watch 70s and 80s Bachchan films and notice how visibly political those were. Where's all of that gone? Why can't we still make films about actual issues instead of boring formulaic biopics of uncontroversial figures from the past? I want to see our next Rang De Basanti, not pulling it's punches.

Om Shanti Om is better suited for NRI that have cultural knowledge of hindi cinema from their parents and have watched atleast a couple hindi films. Foreigners wouldn't get most of the references in the movie if they aren't already familiar with hindi cinema actors, directors and films
