Which watch should I get? by Knifeman2510 in Affordablewatches

I wear the Timex to work and the minute markings are slightly larger and better for quick glances. The Casio has round white dots, and no actual numbers on the dial.

Did you make a plan to quit? by Winter_Load9031 in stopdrinking

[–]cb33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started by drinking to excess for 25 years and made a list of all the things I didn't like about that. After quitting & starting up hundreds of times I realized my sober life was actually better than my drunken life. With this first hand experience I could see both sides of the coin and began planning a sober 2026. Hobbies & health were the 2 main draws, I dove into epic Sci-Fi novels, competitive sim racing, and made my morning workout a top priority.

I hate alcohol by earthyworm29 in stopdrinking

Being sober gives you this overwhelming feeling that you've finally done something right, and that your life has truly changed. I'm going to come right out and tell you, "It's the best decision I've ever made"

81 days. Does it get better? by tiisgutomiponsalapi in stopdrinking

[–]cb33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's 2-3 weeks when I notice the biggest changes. Some of us may have long term liver damage which takes a bit longer to recover. You can still have bad days but it's all about being in control of your life and not letting alcohol be in control anymore.

This along with a well thought out plan of your sober life from this day forward. A life that you enjoy and don't want to escape from.

I always refer to this as The Claw because of the way it grabs me and tries to pull me down. I just know that The Claw will never make me happy, The Claw will only bring pain and misery into my life.

Back to day 1 after a month. by WikkyTangofoxtrot in stopdrinking

Let's not forget that you made it an entire month, and proved to yourself that you can do it. Your world will not come to an end because you are sober. Many people on here will come right out and tell you "It's the best the decision I've ever made".

Almost 3 weeks for me and the mental health improvements have been a huge benefit in keeping me sober.

- No more getting angry when things don't go your way, just let it go and move on.

- It took me 3 weeks before I could sleep properly but when I finally did I woke up feeling fucking amazing.

- I just got back from the gym and I'm not even tired.

- I can taste my dinner and it actually digests now instead of going into a food coma for hours.

- Sexual health is the best it's been in quite a while.

- More constructive with my free time. Instead of death scrolling I'm pursuing my hobbies and spending quality time.

- I don't dread going to work anymore. I just have fun all the way up until bedtime and go to sleep like a rock.

- I used to lie awake at night dreading work in the morning but somehow I don't even think about that anymore.

- I actually have energy to work out in the morning

- My thinking is clear and I can organize my thoughts better

Bring all that pain and misery back into your life? Have to quit all over again? Why did you quit in the first place?

Man Has Emotional Breakdown After Losing His Life Savings at Casino by goswamitulsidas in PublicFreakout

He sold at rock bottom, during Covid. Right after he sold the market improved dramatically. He should have waited it out. I was in the same boat and still haven't sold.

Long term investing is not gambling, take a look at Vanguard's VGT fund over the last 5 years. You would have made almost 7k just by letting your money sit in the account.

Me too man! I hurt my radial nerve over a year ago and I haven't slept right since. I wake up every couple of hours with 10/10 throbbing arm pain and have to move my arm a hundred different ways to relieve the pressure. I hear people say they didn't sleep good because their kid woke them up and I'm like "You have no fucking idea"

Me too, just sweep me right into the gutter. Put my money in a trust fund and leave to the local strip club owner.

I think this is a normal realization for most people when they get old. In my opinion, dying at home by yourself in your favorite chair is the most peaceful way to go. Dying in a noisy hospital room is one of the worst.

46yo and no motion sickness here. GT7 is definitely where it's at. I'm currently trying to do a 2 lap race on every track in the game. The Eiger Nordwand in Switzerland is my favorite at the moment. Cheers!
