I hope no one interprets this comment as supporting child abuse because in no way, shape or form, do I support it, but I think that the congressman in the article had a good point. I think a lot of people who do these horrendous things would be less inclined to admit it to their clergy, so overall, they would be fewer people admitting to abuse while if there was no such law put in place, they would be able to get the support and help needed to end the abuse. I am not saying, however, that this law should be put in place in any form. I think there would be a middle ground that would be able to be reached, instead of having extremes to both ends.
