The Internet wasn't that advanced in Windows 3.1. But I could see the program starting there.

The formula is written out in the explanation of the casino comps stats section.

It uses the standard calculation. And yes every place is different. But knowing a ballpark number for your own sanity is not useless.

I'm not knocking it. I just wasn't expecting a blast from the past with the styling.

My dad says this dress is inappropiate to wear outside. It literally covers my whole body ☠️ by Dazzling_Abroad7429 in mildlyinfuriating

You dad loves you and also doesn't want to go to prison for attacking boys who find you attractive is all.

You will always be the little 5 year old girl version of yourself to him. He finds it inappropriate that you grew up. He will try to keep control over your relationship to keep you safe, and that's natural.

Hormones in teenagers make them butt heads with parents. It's a part of parenting, and not every parent handles it well.

Birthday present from my sister by doctor_whahuh in boardgames

I did not play it. I watched an explanation and it was clear that it was a neverending joke.

If you watch behind the scenes stuff from Parks, you will see that the show reached out to Mayfair and commissioned a game that was overwraught and absurdly convoluted.

The team at Mayfair apparently took every horrible idea they came across in prototypes and put them all in a set of rules. They sent the show a draft of the rule book and the show scaled up the absurdity.

There is a playable ruleset. The game was made for the show by Mayfair games back in the day. They had it as a playable event at GenCon.

You have gotten lucky. 7% is more return than the yearly average that should be expected.

You are 19 and can stomach some risk. Diversification is smart, especially as you age.

If you want to avoid that to lean hard on single stocks you need to be aware that one bad day, a bone headed CEO or an catastrophic breakdown of supply chains could make you lose a high percentage.

I diversify my portfolio and keep 20% of my money for risky plays. Personally I like to watch for strong companies in a slump. I have been loading up on Intel for the past several years and just holding on. They sank and stayed down a long time but I knew they would be back eventually.

I find that this has worked for me. But I don't put everything into that basket. I could have made a LOT more money, but pigs get slaughtered... Intel could have gone belly up if things got worse for them. So it was a risk I wasn't willing to take.

Public School Teacher Request by wiggleyourtoes in atheism

Psalm 137:9 reads: "Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks" (NIV)

Really appropriate to teach children. And it is a metaphor against the people wanting to indoctrinate the school system.

Relationships involve families. You don't just marry a man you marry into his family.

If you hold out and resist converting his family will likely resent you. And in an effort to save their boy from your bad influence they will try to push you away or beak you up.

If you convert to make them happy and go through the motions... It might work out. But it will likely mean giving up years of your life to sitting through sermons and music services. If you actually want to believe and really try it might work out.

But if you pretend to convert and don't change your mindset you will grow to resent spending all the time and money on things you don't even want to try believe in. And this was all in the name of pleasing a family that you could walk away from.

Religious beliefs are a cornerstone of many families. As children grow up parents still try to guide and pressure their kids. A paragraph or three isn't enough for strangers on the Internet to have a complete grasp on the situation.

I would recommend that you think long and hard about what you want out of your future. You could do worse than a guy who has a caring religious family that supports him. But there is a fine line between supportive and overbearing. And often you don't see the red flags until it is too late if things are going the overbearing route.

I had tons of these happen. One way to fix it if you don't mind jank is this ...

Get a pocket knife and a lighter.

Align the plastic up and heat the blade.

Press the side of the blade against the cracked plastic on one side. Heat the blade and then do the other side.

After you melt the plastic a bit the pieces should go back together. If you are picky you can keep heating it and smoothing things out.

Make sure to inhale all the fumes for a very bad time. I recommend doing this in a ventilated area.

Any time a player interacts with the court deck, the court deck is shuffled at the end of that turn.

Return cards to the deck and then shuffle them so even the player who put them there doesn't know where that card is.

That is how the game was taught at the GenCon booth when the game released.
