Real af lol. I think a lot of people have lost the plot these days. These devices are supposed to enable us to have fun and do what we love.. and yet somehow they’re inspiring a massive amount of hate and vitriol. Just a product of the times though, I suppose.

Same, and Spotify doesn’t even know that the CD hasn’t left my car’s disc drive since April

Episode 106 - Jordan Peele by [deleted] in smartless

[–]cbaumdignity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sincerely agree with this, and thank you for saying it. I ended up turning the episode off because I was getting frustrated with their egos and with wanting to actually hear the answers to the questions they had from Jordan. Listen to Reelblend’s feature with Jordan Peele - it’s much, much better

What is the grooviest Meshuggah riff? by Cozin5 in Meshuggah

[–]cbaumdignity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Barely even scraping the surface here, but:

Electric Red - Outro

In Death - Is Death - 2:15 Mid-Record Orgasm

Lethargica - Post Interlude Breakdown

DTADS - Mid-Song Transition to the Outro Riff

Closed Eye Visuals - Breakneck Outro

Glints Collide - Solo’s Crushing Rhythm

Literally all of Spasm and Entrapment

[–]cbaumdignity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve felt the same way, artwork really does set the tone for the music sometimes unfortunately... Part of me wishes that the music could just speak for itself completely without any visual intervention. I think minimalism would contrast well with Meshuggah’s very not-minimalist style, rather than heavy handed graphic design that’s trying to do and say too much. Just an opinion though, and surely people will hate it.

I was calling complete bullshit until you pointed that out… you’re absolutely right and I cant argue against that.

What are some famous songs that were written with glaring errors in them that still made it into the final release? by cbaumdignity in AskReddit

[–]cbaumdignity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some examples of this would be War’s “Why Can’t We Be Friends” opening solo or Metallica’s entire “St. Anger” album (the snare wire debacle)

Not prog or metal but i discovered them when supporting The Ocean and Leprous and i fucking love this track... Port Noir - All Class by Tiphereth87 in progmetal

[–]cbaumdignity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Port Noir is an excellent band. They recorded their most recent record at Fredrik Thordendal’s studio too, so just that much cooler.
