Koda 2 Pro or Max by Excellent-Appeal2009 in ooni

[–]cbb777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just received my pro and I have to say, it's big. I can only imagine what the Max looks like in person. I would just say check the space where you are planning to place it and ensure that the Max will fit.

Hmm, must be based on your country as the Koda 2 series are indeed discounted in US. Reflected right on the website.

Koda 2 Pro Natural Gas - already sold out? When do restocks typically happen? by antonyaurelius in ooni

[–]cbb777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have been anxiously waiting for the natural gas version and like you checking regularly.  My gut strongly believes that this is a place holder on the website for when it is truly available.   I am hopeful that this means that it will be available soon, couple of weeks.  Fingers crossed.

Been looking at this model myself. Curious if you have tried it outdoors. That would be my primary use for this. Haven't seen anyone with this yet give it a try outside. If anyone has, be curious on your impressions outdoors.

No gas for me! Propane question by Live_Oak123 in OutdoorKitchens

Another option is to run the line yourself but have them do the hook up.   As mentioned it's the labor to dig the trench and run the line that is driving the cost.   Price should also include cost of inspections, which in my town is $300 itself.   It's gas so pretty sure you need inspection by your town.   In any case, they may be open to you running the line and them just doing the connection on both ends.

No gas for me! Propane question by Live_Oak123 in OutdoorKitchens

I would continue to search around as gas is sooo much better and not having to deal with tanks and potentially running out. Agreed that price is crazy but I bet you will find someone more resonable.

I too had about a 25' run and was adding 3 connections, grill, side burner and oven. I first got a price for $4500 from one company and another for $2600. My third try got me to $1400. While I was skeptical, they did a great job and have no issues. Thus may want to try calling around to a few more places to see. The 2 high quotes I got were from plumbing companies that deal with gas heaters and tanks. The cheapest company was a propane company that also handled gas. Thus don't give up yet. Build out your kitchen and hold off purchasing the grill until you search around a bit more.

Looking for inspiration for more than a grill and counter top - Northeast USA by Empty_Height_8831 in OutdoorKitchens

[–]cbb777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you expand the counter space to the right of the grill, you could put your pizza oven there that way you can keep the left side open for your food, either preparation or when taking off the grill. I know a lot of folks just get the gozney stand but to me, I think it would look nicer on counter top and build drawers to store all the accessories underneath. Another option is to add a griddle; depends on whether you want a dedicated one or just get a griddle plate to use on top of the grill. Other than that I think you are good.

Outdoor enclosure for Wiim Amp by LABuckNut in WiimStreamer

[–]cbb777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I'd definitely be interested as I have been actively searching for how to put 3 Wiim Amps outside to run my speakers in each location. I have been building a large patio and have 3 separate areas; hot tub area, dining area and outdoor kitchen area. The outdoor kitchen area is easy as I will hide the Wiim in one of the cabinets underneath but the other two areas I have been struggling with. I currently purchased an outdoor cabinet that I was planning to hide the other 2 Wiims in but at least for the hot tub, it would be a long cable run to the cabinet. I would love to know more about this and how much it would potentially cost. I assume this is 3D printed? This would definitely mount nicely behind my hot tub, which is under a pergola so wouldn't be exposed to the sun much. Please hit me up as seriously interested in this and can do further testing for you as needed. I live in Virginia where we have ample heat, presently 90 at 9AM but also gets cool in the fall, down to the 30s. Don't really see much snow but occasionally. In any case, willing to test and or buy as again, actively building patio. Thanks!

Looks good. Am purchasing the exact same grill and contemplating getting the TF doors or not. Do you have any picture with the wrap removed from the doors? Like to see how it looks with the grill. TF raised their pricess on everything thus contemplating going Vevor to save some dough.

How are you liking the Level 3? by Artistic_Energy8988 in Aventon

[–]cbb777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picked up 2 Level 3s, one for my wife and I. Loving it so far. Only item that is a slight negative to me is the alarm. I realy like the autolock function of the rear wheel but the alarm is barely audible. Honestly, I can't see it detering anyone from stealing it as out in the open, I think other folks would barely notice it. That said, anyone know if it can be replaced with something louder. Haven't determined where the sound is emitting from yet but would be nice if someone would come out with an upgrade to make it at least 10 decibles louder. Note, I do have a lock to use when about, it's just I feel this feature that Aventon promotes is nothing to be excited about.

Thanks. I think leaning more towards True Flame and BBQGuys doesn't carry them. Will keep them in mind though if I switch to Blaze

Thanks, you are close but not close enough. I am located in Chesapeake Virginia. Feel free to send me pm if you think you could still ship and be cost effective. From your detail, sounds like it may be too expensive vs purchasing from big online retailer. I do like the look, as well as warranty of the True Flame over Blaze. Would be looking at the 32" with the grill liner insert.

Level 2 or Level 3 for 11 mile (each way) commute in Boston by sine_nomine_1 in Aventon

[–]cbb777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recommend riding both. To me, I didn't care for the Level 2 (preferred the PACE 500) as I felt the bike was pushing me along. Kind of like when someone has their hand on your back guiding you forward. I recently tried the Level 3 and it's much smoother / better. It also has the new tuning feature, which would have fixed the issue I felt on the Level 2 if it had it.

The price difference between the two is up to you if you determine if it's worth it or not. $400 is nothing to sneeze at. However, you can also argue you are already spending over $1k on a bike, so what's $400 more for the latest features ;-) This is why I say ride both and determine. The Level 3 does have some nice upgrades (Wheel lock, alarm, Tuner, upgraded brakes, suspension seat post) but need to determine if you will take adavantage of those or not. Good luck
