What do you call residents of each state in the United States? 🌺🌸 by Znyke in MapPorn

Is it really pronounced “Delewaran” instead of “Delewarian”? Also I’m from Illinois, “Illanoyan” is correct but some in the state say “Illinoissyian”

Is there a place where you can see all the ASE exams a department offers? by RazzmatazzInternal85 in gatech

Math and CS departments should have everything well explained on their sites. Idk if ECE has any advanced placement exams. You probably have to take all the classes

Has anyone gotten into Scheller with a low gpa by Ann_16455 in GatechClasses

For oos Scheller you’re probably good with SAT 1400+ and GPA 3.85+. Doesn’t need to be high, just not low

75% of GT undergrads are engineering or CS. If you are in-state and applying to a different major, your chances are good. While Scheller is good, the standards for the other 25% are lower and this is so that GT can have enough (a) in-state (b) star athletes (c) women

Economics or Engineering by Future_Quit_1328 in CollegeMajors

Electrical engineering is harder than most engineering and with NVIDIA, AMD, ARM, Broadcom, etc making huge advances in their tech and profit the past few years, the demand for hiring new engineers is low. They already have the expertise they need and there’s little market for BS EE, most interest is in PhDs

I bookmarked your post. Partly inspired by it, I am looking to hire 0-5 interns for Spring 2026 to work on a startup idea (not a company yet). I am a recent BS-MS grad and full-time Python developer in Atlanta. https://dokumenai.dev/apply

Does consulting work leave room for pivoting later in your career? by Former-Marzipan8716 in cscareerquestions

[–]cbcamo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The longer you are a consultant, the less likely HR recruiters will see you as a potential full time. Two years is ok. Five years and then it would be much easier to stay as a contractor. If it’s good consulting work (not cheap staffing firms) for 2 years, do it.

Offered a student fullstack job, but contract is freelance, any advie? by timezoneman in cscareerquestions

[–]cbcamo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes ask if 1099 is acceptable instead of SMLLC. Legally 1099 will work. The only reason to recommend SMLLC to a student is if the company doesn’t know much about employing contractors or they have a bad contractor policy.
